LL Bean's Profile

Long Memorial Day Weekend

Hubby and I are NYC foodies. Going to Chicago for the first time. Have dinner reservations at Tru, Everest, Les Nomades and Spiaggia. Lunch one day at Blackbird. Need other lunches plus a Monday evening dinner. We already have a lot of French so either American or Italian. Thinking of North Pond or MK. Thanks so much in advance!

Peasant or Pylos

Hubby and I will be on LES/East Vilalge environs and wondered if anyone has been to either recently. Will be a Wed. nite. Thanks in advance.

Good for Picky Group

Planning a dinner out in November for six very opinionated and particular New Yorkers. New American or Italian would be good. Price is not an issue but place should have very good food and atmosphere where a conversation can be heard. Thanks in advance for your help.

5 Dinners in Vegas

Hubby and I have 4 nights and 5 dinners in L.V. We are going to two shows, We plan to dine at Guy Savoy and Joel Robuchon at the Masion on the nights we do not have shows. The others include Sinatra, Veranda and Picasso. We thought we'd do a brunch at Bellagio Fountains. What else shouldn't we miss? Thanks in advance.

Piquant on Flatbush Ave.

Has anyone tried this Southwestern place yet? Is it any good?

Garden Cafe

Walked past last night and it appeared closed. Telephone has been disconnected. Is this permanent?

Scarpetta or Del Posto

Hubby and I thinking of doing Del Posto Enoteca (we have been there before and always enjoyed it, although last time was a year ago) or Scarpetta. Which do you recommend? Thanks in advance.

Sean's in Cape May - Home Run

Wherre is this place?

Nice Lunch in Atlantic City

Stopping off on drive back to New York on Tuesday of Labor Day weekend. Saw that Michael Mina, Wolfgang Puck and Bobby Flay do not do lunch. Recommendations appreciated for excellent place with nice ambience that does lunch. Can be casual. No Indian food, Thai or sushi. Thanks in advance.

Lunch on Santa Cruz Boardwalk

Stopping on the way to Carmel from San Francisco. Want something good but casual and not too heavy. Recommendations appreciated. Don't like Indian, sushi or Thai. Thanks in advance.

cape may dining

Will be there for a long Labor Day weekend. Has anyone been to La Verandah at the Hotal Alcott? Anything new on the dining scene? thanks in advance.

Dining Near Botanic Garden

Have a cocktail event to attend but will need dinner after. Does anyone have any good suggestions in the area? Thanks in advance.

Yosemite Dining

Hubby and I staying at Chateau du Sureau for a few days. We plan to dine at Erna's at least twice. Does anyone recommend the Ahwahnee as a change from it? Thanks in advance.

4 Days in San Francisco

Hi, Pei. Thank you so much for your thoughtful Email. Really appreciate the advice. We are staying at the Hotel Monaco, Union Square. Any other tips are further appreciated. Thanks again for your help!

4 Days in San Francisco

Hubby and I will be winding up our vacation with 4 days in San Francisco. We are sophisticated NYers and do not mind spending money if it is worth it. We do not eat sushi or spicy food. That said, we are torn between Fleur de Lys, Gary Danko (second time), Ritz Carlton Dining Room, Acquerello and Delfina. We also need some casual lunch suggestions. Is Kokkari good? Would any of the above work before an 8 pm performance of Beach Blanket Babylon or can you recommend somewhere good in North Beach that takes reservations? Thanks in advance.

Which Would You Choose?

Torn between Gusto, Giorgio's of Grammercy Park, AOC Bedford and Centro Vinoteca. Help is very much appreciated.

Good for Group

Going with group of 6 for late Sept. Sat nite dinner. Want someplace that takes reservations with good ambience, not cramped or loud so that we can have a conversaton, with nice ambience and good food, relaxed and not too pricey. Italian in Village would be great but am open to other suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Quick Bite Before Show/City Center

Have tickets Mon. nite to 7 p.m. show at City Center. Would like soemthing quick and inexpensive but civilized, maybe a glass of wine. Any suggestions (55th between 6th and 7th). Thanks in advance.

Cookshop, Peasant or Place on W. 10th

Group of six going on a Sat nite. Concerns are good food, enough room at tables, air conditioning and noise level. Which of these would be best or suggestion that meets criteria stated above. Thanks in advance.

Daniel, Jean-Georges or Le Bernardin

For a birthday celebration for myself and husband. Have been to all of them but which is best? Heading to Lincoln Center after for a late show. Thanks in advance.

Telepan or Cesca

Have to be in neighborhood and thought I'd try Cesca. Went to Telepan a few weeks ago and enjoyed it very much. Is Cesca worth trying or should I stick with Telepan? Thanks in advance.

Molyvos RW Review

Hubby and I went to Molyvos also. We were there early in the evening, so we did not experience the horrible service you described. We have always wanted to try this place as well. We opted not to partake of the RW menu but rather order various mezze, which would cost about the same, but to our taste, were much more interesting. We experienced courteous, friendly service and would return sometime. I agree that the owner should make amends and that the fault was with them, not with you. You win some, you lose some. If you like Greek food, I highly recommend Thalassa.

Thalassa or Peasant

Looking for a nice place for dinner after afternoon at movies. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Not To Be Missed - Top Seattle Recommendations

Hubby and I are NY foodies and will have 5 nights in Seattle after Alaska cruise (in June/July). What is a must? We like all cuisines but Indian/sushi-Chinese. Price not an object. Last time we did Canlis (and want to revisit), Lampreia, Mistral, Flying Fish, Wild Ginger and Rover's. Thanks in advance.

Vegetarian Friend from Out of Town

Recommendations appreciated for group of five, one of whom is a vegetarian. No Indian food, but open to everything else. Thanks in advance.

Barbetta or Firebird

Has anyone been to either and if so, would you recommend for pretheater lunch? Appreciate your help.

Theater Dining

Going to see A Chorus Line (West 45th) and need recommendations for lunch. Thanks in advance.

Wine Bars

Can someone recommend a good wine bar (with good food also), not too pricey, near 58th and 5th? Thanks in advance.

Dressler

Has anyone been there? Recommended? Thanks in advance.

Fornino

Has anyone been? Is it worth a trip? Never read anything much about the place on these boards. Thanks in advance.
