kid-friendly SF restaurants with seriously delicious food

Husband and I love to try the best (not fancy, just great food) restaurants when we travel, but this is the first time we're traveling to San Francisco with 2 kids (4 and almost 2-year-old). Any recommendations? We're coming from NYC.

Thanks in advance!

Best Upper West Side ethnic holes in the wall

Awash.

Thai Market just opened, too, and is good. Not hole in the wall, though.

Any chance Peter Luger is not overrated? [moved from Manhattan board]

I'm having reservations about my reservation there. NYer by the way.

need an "insider ny" restaurant to take foreign foodies... want amazing food, but also cool atmosphere.

Best new restaurant of 2006?

What would you vote for?

Has anyone made Nigella's pomegranate jewel cake?

I'm thinking of making it for T'giving, but would love to hear success (or other!) stories.

Thanks in advance.

No. I want a cool place, but it can't be too foodie-ish. So for example, a not-too-touristy, but neighborhoody cool place. Does that make sense? Like a Corner Bistro-type place, but with more selections/less crowds. Thanks!
