Cobia on 30A

Is there anywhere on 30A that does Cobia? I'm sure there are but just can't think of anywhere -- Smiling Fish used to offer it in season and it was excellent but they closed down.

Thanks

Take-Out for a Bridesmaid Luncheon in Montgomery

Any good recommendations for somewhere I could "take-out" food from for a bridesmaid luncheon?

The bride doesn't want to have it at a restaurant and wants to do it at the hotel everyone is staying at (Renaissance downtown).

Not sure what we are thinking -- maybe chicken salad, fruit, etc... nothing too heavy and it won't be for a big crowd.

Any recommendations are appreciated.

Chicago Dinner for 8-10

I'm heading to Chicago for a bachelor party the third weekend in May and am looking for a place that could accommodate 8-10; is lively but the food is great and preferably meat-centric. I was thinking maybe Publican but I haven't been to this great city since 2011 so I don't know what changes, what's new, etc...

Also, I'm looking at all you can eat/drink rooftops for a cubs game on Friday or Saturday. I can't remember the one I did a few years ago but it seemed like a good deal (around $100 or so) and it was a great time.

Thanks in advance for any input.

I'm going for a wedding in a few months and need some food suggestions. Staying at the Renaissance downtown so walking or short cab would be preferred but willing to travel if the food is worth it.

I'm not looking for anything in particular I just want to the food to be good and would prefer alcohol

Thanks

Help me decide between these three restaurants

Going with a group of 4. We will probably be boozing pretty heavily -- I only say that because a louder place would probably be a good thing but food is the most important factor.

Also, are all these places pretty casual as far as attire is concerned?

Restaurant -- Park Cities area

Going to be in Dallas for a wedding next week and needed a recommendation for a fine dining restaurant in the Park Cities area.

Thursday is our only free day and will be going with my 22 year old cousin so I'm not sure how adventerous she is. Price isn't an object -- just want it to be excellent.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Montreal Restaurant Help needed

Thanks for all the input. What would be the best place place bar atmosphere?

Montreal Restaurant Help needed

Also a casual lunch rec would be great too -- somewhere I could wear shorts and be able to have a drink

I know it's hard without being specific but uniqueness to the city is my biggest requirement

Montreal Restaurant Help needed

Thanks for the input. I'll begin researching these suggestions

I'm not really looking for any kind of food in particular -- just something that is unique to Montreal preferably

As far as ambience I would prefer upbeat as opposed to stuffy but food trumps everything...

Montreal Restaurant Help needed

I'm going to Montreal in July for three nights and have never been before. I've heard great things about the restaurants there and am very excited.

It looks like we are going to stay in Old Montreal but as long as the cabs are abundant which I'm sure they are we will venture out of that area

The only place I know is a must Au Pied De Cochon as I love foie and I've heard this place is great. Should we do lunch or dinner there?

I'd like to have two "fine" dining dinner -- price isn't really an object we just want to eat at the best Montreal has to offer

I'd like to go to a relaxed bar with poutine where I could spend a few hours

What else is Montreal known for food wise? Any other must hit places?

Thanks for any input

Vegan-friendly in Memphis?

Here is a site with a few more options

Mortimer's (Memphis)

I haven't been in about 3-5 years but it is okay. Nothing I would go out of my way for but not bad for lunch or dinner.

Vegan-friendly in Memphis?

Memphis isn't a great spot for Vegan Friendly restaurants but we have a few. Most of these are in mid-town which is about a 10 minute drive from downtown.

Imagine in Cooper Young is all Vegan but if you are with people who aren't they may not be too thrilled with this spot.

Deja-Vu: www.dejavurestaurant.org - this is downtown but not in the core -- a little out of the way in a less than desirable neighborhood but the food is great. They are only open for lunch.

Fuel Cafe - www.fuelcafememphis.com/ - this is in midtown.

3 angels diner - www.threeangelsdiner.com/ - this is also in midtown but a little further away than fuel in the Broad arts district

There are a couple of thai places that offer vegan offerings downtown and in midtown: Thai Bistro and Bangkok Alley downtown and Bhan Thai and Jasmine in midtown.

I bet some fine dining places downtown can make you a vegan plate i.e. McEwens on Monroe, Felicia Suzannes, etc...

Also, places like Huey's serve veggie burgers

Brunch for 25 people

Commanders messed up our reservation so we are kind of in a bind to find a place to get brunch for 25 three weeks from today.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Friday lunch in the Virginia Highlands

I'll be in town next Thursday and Friday. Unfortunately I'll be busy during dinner both nights, I'm eating at Leon's in Decatur for lunch on Thursday but have Friday lunch open.

I'm pretty wide open as far as type of cuisine but I'd like to go somewhere that I can sit down, order a drink and enjoy a long lunch.

I'm staying in the Virginia Highlands but I can cab if it's worth it.

Thanks for any input.

Food Centric Bar in Nasvhille

Thanks, I may check out the Holland House

I've stayed at the Hutton a few times so I'm familiar with the 1808 -- it's good but I want to try something new

Food Centric Bar in Nasvhille

Something more upscale is what I would prefer. As far as drinks go it really doesn't matter as long as I can have a scotch -- I'm more concerned with the food

College football is over so TV's aren't really a requirement although one would be nice

Food Centric Bar in Nasvhille

I'm going to be arriving in Nashville Saturday evening and was looking for a bar with great food -- something casual where I can grab a few drinks as well.

I'll be staying at the Hotel Indigo on West End and will be willing to take a cab as long as it's not out to the burbs.

Also, what time do bars open downtown on Sunday? I wanted to grab a drink before I head over to my in-laws tailgate. Whodat

Lunch within walking distance to Beale St.

I hate to hear that about Slims. I went for dinner and had a good meal and always enjoyed their lunch prior to the new chef/owner taking over.

Lunch within walking distance to Beale St.

Gus's is great and not too far from Beale. There are 4-5 Gus's restaurants around Memphis and they are all essentially the same -- hopefully your wife likes fried chicken because it is some of the best.

if you want something a little more upscale you could check out:

McEwens on Monroe: http://www.mcewensonmonroe.com/

Felicia Suzzane's: http://www.feliciasuzanne.com/

Automatic Slims: http://www.automaticslimsmemphis.com/

I haven't been to lunch at Slims since their new chef took over but I assume, like the dinner, it is good.

They are all a few blocks from Beale. Majestic is good but I've found the service is kind of slow and I think the three places above are about the same price and have better food.

Bardog and Local are both good as well -- they are foodcentric bars

http://www.localgastropub.com/

http://www.bardogtavern.com/

Again, these places are a couple blocks off of Beale -- IMO the food on Beale is pretty lackluster although I haven't been to Johnny G's which is mentioned above

Sports Bar on 30A and kid friendly good food

I'll be staying in Seacrest Beach (between Rosemary and Allys) and need somewhere with the NFL package to watch the Saints on Sunday.

I would prefer a place with above average bar food but that's not a necessity as proximity is probably a bigger factor.

Oustide of George's what are some kid friendly restaurants that are good? Is Cafe 30A kid friendly -- I've been a few times but I don't really remember.

Thanks for any input.

Grayton Beach reccomendations

Cafe Tango

Barago

Caliza (sp?)

Cafe 30A

These are all good fine dining spots (fine dining as far as food, you can still wear shorts). I've never been to V and may check it out since I'll be at Seacrest Beach all week

I'm not a fan of Fish Out Water -- I've eaten there 3-4 times and everytime it has just been okay.

Pasta Italia in Collierville

I heard they were closing the restaurants and the chef/owner was moving to Chattanooga to open a restuarant. I heard that someone liked their food so much they offered to set them up there.

I never went since it is a 45 minute drive from my house but I was told it was excellent.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

What kind od place is restuarant Iris

It's very different from anything in NYC.

Chef English trained under Besh and ran a Besh restaurant at the Horseshoe Casino in Tunica. August is probably the closest comparison although they are very different.

I would put Iris on par with any of the best restaurants in the south. Get ready for a decadant meal.

Flight or Iris

Really? I don't see any similarities except for the name. The schtick at Flight (memphis) is that you can order "flights" of food i.e. tenderloin flight with smaller portions of Pork, Beef, Lamb or wine flights allowing you to taste 3 different kinds of wine, etc...

Unless Flyte in Nashville completely changed I think you are wrong.
