Help with Impossible Birthday Dinner--Japanese

I'm looking for a good place for my niece's 10th birthday. She is a super adventurous foodie and would most love Japanese. The rest of the group is also adventurous, but some aren't that into Japanese food. I've been looking at places like Morimoto and Matsuri, where the non-sushi entrees are somewhat fusion-y. I'm wondering if anyone has other recommendations (or thoughts about these two options).
Also, we're looking in the range of $60/person. And grandparents will be attending, so places that are loud and rocking aren't so great (which is one reason why I'm not so sure about Matsuri).
THANKS for any recs.

Turkish, Greek, or Middle Eastern Catering

I am looking for a restaurant that will prepare and deliver food for a party of about 50 people, with the cost running to about $15/person. The presentation doesn't need to be fancy (foil trays full of good food would be fine). I am hoping to find a good Turkish or Greek restaurant that will give us traditional food, perhaps with a little bit of a personal touch. In other words, I want to avoid the same old falafel of a Pita Grill type place.
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Dinner before St. Ann's

Thanks for all the recommendations! We're tempted to go to River Cafe though I'm not sure recession economics will allow it. It's looking like Noodle Pudding or Vinegar House, though we're also intrigued by Petit Marche.
Thanks again.

Dinner before St. Ann's

My husband and I are looking for a place to eat before or after we see La Didone at St. Ann's. It's a birthday dinner, so we want something nice ($18-$28 entrees). We're up for anything though French, Italian, German, or pseudo-European would be preferred. We have been to 5 Front and enjoyed it, but that was a few years ago and the reviews on this board indicate that it has gone downhill. The ideal place would be no more than a 20 minute walk from St. Ann's.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Any Luck with FreshDirect?

Yeah, the packaging is something I've wondered about. I see all the boxes and whatnot in my building's trash room. I try to buy organic/local/sustainable whenever I can, but putting all that in a box for delivery sort of defeats the purpose.
Still, everyone seems relatively gung-ho. I might go ahead and try them for pantry items.

Any Luck with FreshDirect?

Thanks for the input. I love Fairway/Zabars and grew up with shopping trips to both places. I go there for treats whenever I can. They're not so great for my weekly shopping, though. I save money by stocking up at Fairway and then lose it all when I take a cab home (I've never achieved the coordination necessary for a granny-cart and NYC streets).

Any Luck with FreshDirect?

I am thinking about using FreshDirect for the first time. I live near Columbus Circle and Whole Foods, my usual grocery store, is getting too crazy (even with a recession going on!). Anyone have any luck with FreshDirect? Any tips? Their products seem pretty generic to me, but will I at least get actual fresh meat and veg? Any advice would be very helpful.
Thanks,
