Most fantastic atmosphere in Vegas?
By fantastic, I mean exactly that. A fantasyland. Something out of this world.
If there were a restaurant where every booth were surrounded by a tank of mermaids, that's where we'd go. Or a restaurant that were set in a subterranean world of ninjas (there was a place like that in NYC, actually -- it sucked).
In other words, my husband and I are looking for somewhere entirely unique. We should be able to find that in Vegas, right?
The food has to be great too, maybe not perfect, but great. We are foodies, but are willing to compromise a bit for a restaurant that is also an experience.
Suggestions?
Thanks!
p.s. We're also going to hit Roku one night, Buchon for breakfast, and maybe the champagne breakfast buffet at the Bellagio (or equivalent).
I need to find fresh Quail Eggs! (hollywood, willing to travel)
I've searched a few grocery stores and haven't been able to find fresh quail eggs. Whole Foods had canned quail eggs, which kinda work in a pinch, but are rubbery...
does anyone know of a place I can buy FRESH quail eggs?
Around Hollywood/West Hollywood would be amazing, but I'm willing to drive.
THANK YOU!
Affordable but great Vegas meal? Staying at Encore.
bar charlie seems intriguing... that's a good deal, not the cheapest, but i love how intimate the space is. i think we'll try that, and keep DB and Mesa in our back pocket.
and btw, I've had breakfast at Bouchon and loved it. i'm sure it's great for dinner, but i want to try as many different places as i can.
Bar Charlie - "Date Night" april special?
odd -- I just made a reservation for a tuesday for "date night." so either they tricked me and it isn't really date night, or maybe it's tuesday - friday? hmmm...
Affordable but great Vegas meal? Staying at Encore.
thank you! all of those look great.
Affordable but great Vegas meal? Staying at Encore.
I'm going to Vegas this week for a few days (business and pleasure). Already have reservations at Alex for one special night, Wing Lei for another more social night, and am looking for a casual (or not) meal for the third night that won't break the bank (since the other two surely will).
I've been to Batali's San Marco, and while I do love the (cheesy) setting of the Venetian, the food was eh -- compared to Pizzeria Mozza, or Batali's more upscale places I've been to.
Can anyone recommend a place for a foodie who loves great atmosphere (and I do love gimmicky, when it's well done), but who doesn't want to spend 100 a head? I'm willing to do a buffet, but only if the food is actually great.
Thanks so much!!
Mini Pies, Small Pies, Little Pies? In LA?
Thanks so much for all of these suggestions!! Not sure yet which one I'll choose for tomorrow, but I can't wait to try out all of these places. Gotta love Chowhound!
Mini Pies, Small Pies, Little Pies? In LA?
We're desperately looking for little pies to serve at a party this weekend, and wish we'd thought ahead so we could've ordered them from Little Pie Co in NYC. But, since we're last minute folks, we didn't.
Does anyone know of a bakery/patisserie/diner in LA that makes little pies? (3-4 inches in diameter)
Can be anywhere in Los Angeles (or west-side, burbank, pasadena...). We're willing to drive.
All recommendations welcome.
Thanks so much!
