Babbo or Carbone? + Pre/post theater recs

We are coming into town in September, trying to choose between Babbo and Carbone. Obviously we are looking for good food but also a fun lively atmosphere (although not at the expense of good service). Any other recs are greatly appreciated

Also seeing Book of Morman one night, is there anything "chow" worthy in the vicinity for pre or post-show dining?

Highland Farms

There has been a split.

Not sure about all of the particulars but from what I understand one group now has Scarborough, Mississauga, the actual farm and has maintained the name. The other group has the other locations, including Dufferin and Vaughan Mills. Allegedly there is also quite a bit of real estate in play as well.

It is somewhat sad that a family business is splitting up in the same year it celebrates its 50th anniversary.

Need Dim Sum Guidance

FYI Charles, Spring Villa has reopened. I enjoyed a fantastic lunch there yesterday.

Ursa vs Campagnolo

Trying to decide between Ursa and Campagnolo for a birthday dinner, have heard good things about both.....

Friday Lunch in Stratford

Heading out this Friday, haven't been in a couple of years. Any lunch rec's would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

A humble request to the Toronto foodie gods!

You should look into Marben, very well-executed, interesting local fare, and a cool vibe.

Good Dim Sum Near Don Mills and Steeles...not Spring Villa

Heading up north a little later, looking for a good dim sum spot in the general vicinity of Don Mills and Steeles, preferably with carts. Thanks

Colborne Lane vs Splendido

Big anniversary dinner...these are the two contenders. Any thoughts...or alternative suggestions? Only caveat is that my SO doesn't eat fish (although she does eat seafood).

One dinner on a Sunday night in May

Toronto hound, coming to Boston for a family event in May. We will be pretty tied up while we are in town, but will have Sunday night open for dinner. Not looking for something super -expensive but fun and interesting. We are staying in Cambridge but are happy to travel in to the city. Thanks

3 Days in Hong Kong

Just out of curiousity, what am I looking at spending at L'atelier, was it hard to get a reservation?

3 Days in Hong Kong

I am a Toronto Hound and you were just the person I was hoping would respond. Where do you recommend we go for dim sum or authentic HK style chinese food? I am looking for substance over style.

3 Days in Hong Kong

My Fiancee and I will be spending 3 days in Hong Kong on our honeymoon in one week's time. We are looking for some dining rec's. We are staying at the Four Seasons Hong Kong but hope to see as much in three days as possible. I am looking to avoid the tourist traps but am pretty open.
Is L'atelier Joel Robuchon worth checking out if we want one non-chinese upscale meal while we are there? If not any other suggestions?

Cookies with Names

Does anyone know where to get cookies with peoples names on them? Throwing a brunch in honour of a recent engagement and would like to get cookies with the couples names on them. Thanks

Toronto Hound Coming to Florida in June

Good Day Florida Hounds,
My girlfriend and I will be spending time in Miami and the Keys in the middle of June. We are in need of some guidance. We will have a car and are looking for rec's for breakfast, lunches and dinners. We are open to different cuisine and price points.
Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Lynn Crawford was robbed

Susur Lee tied Bobby Flay (battle bacon...I believe) and Rob Feenie won against Morimoto. As far as I can tell, Crawford is the first Canadian Chef lose.

Fine Dining Near Orillia

Spending a week at the cottage next month. We will be mostly doing our own cooking but wouldn't mind having one or two nice meals. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Good Day all, I am posting from Toronto. Is anyone familiar with Ginos or Genos in NYC. My father was just there and was raving about the Geno's salad. I would like to recreate it for him but I have no idea and all he could tell me was that there were beets in it.
