birthday gift for a foodie?

Its my fiance's birthday in two weeks. He loves food.. both eating and cooking. Besides restaurants and cooking classes in the city, any other ideas of food experiences fit for a foodie?

thanks so much!

Brooklyn Fare Tasting Dinner

Yes, thats exactly right but the tasting room/kitchen is actually halfway down the block from the grocery store in a separate area. It is 70 per person and totally totally worth every dollar! Enjoy!!

Brooklyn Fare Tasting Dinner

Last night, I surprised my boyfriend with the tasting dinner by Chef Cesar Ramirez at the newish Brooklyn Fare and words can barely describe what an incredible, memorable, and delicious experience it was! It was us with four other couples and we were right up close with Cesar in this gorgeous and sparking kitchen. He gave us a menu which gave very brief descriptions of each course that we would be having and he had many, many extra courses in addition to what was listed in the menu. It was around 10 courses overall and each course was more delicious and beautiful than the next. We were in awe watching Cesar and his assistants put together each course and every bite was just so delicious. We loved every course and I think my personal favorite was the branzino and my boyfriend loved the tomato course which basically did tomatoes in six different ways. The dinner was BYOB and everyone came well-prepared with various drinks. By the end of the night, the group that started off as strangers felt like old friends (including the chefs!). We had such a fantastic night and I wanted to share it with all of you so you can experience it as well!

Ideas of what to do once over the Brooklyn Bridge??

Hi all,
My parents are coming to visit for the day and Im trying to think of something new for us to do.. I was thinking of walking over the Brooklyn Bridge. I know Grimaldi's is over there but is there anything else right off of the bridge that you could recommend for either a meal or snack? Thanks so much!!

Post Chemo dinner recommendations

One of my most favorite and special restaurants in the city is Scalini Fedeli in Tribeca. It is just a really special place where the service is top notch and the food is amazing! It is a pre-fixe menu of, I think, $65 per person it includes so so much food. Its definitely a celebratory type place.. possibly for when your Mom finishes all her chemo treatments! Best of luck!
