started to go to Barton Springs but saw the masses heading in, the lines and thought, naw...so we walked around 6th St. in the blazing heat so I could snap some cool day time photos....very cool place. Went to a glass studio in a little mall at the end of 6th ..there was a brewery next door. Fun town...

Mid Cape hit Ocean House. I prefer the lounge bar. Amazing Bento box specials. They have lovely fish and use local produce such as Miss Scarletts Farm. Fin is also great. The chef's husband has his own oyster farm.

I love Joe's Bar and Grill for music and dancing. My friend loves the food. Beacon Room has been very good in the past.

I was at an open house at Supple Apothocary who had Sunbird cater. Hummus and garlic spreads..homemade chips, dips, lovely food all around...very organic, colorful and huge flavor explosion..

wasn't able to access the latest recs as I did not take my laptop..had a car but was with friends who drove. Hula Hut, blah...Chuys was pretty good..Hodaddy's was packed so went next door to Guero's for pretty ok food..nothing wow...I did want to go to a food truck but next time...missed out on Frozen Custard too. Had lovely margaritas at Dolce Vita in Highland Park...

Everyone dresses so casual..like shorts and ts...Lines everywhere..and the heat, phew...

My date and I are meeting in Boston Wed. He chose the last place so, this time, my turn. I reside on Cape Cod so prefer south of the city, South End preferred. My desire is romantic, cozy, nice drinks and apps. Mid week, 5 pm ish...thanks for your contributions to my love and eating life..cannot wait to see what my fellow Chowhounds recommend. Booth seating would be divine or cozy up two tops...

Ackee resembles scrambled eggs..I have only had it canned but it's lovely on the tree. The canned version I have enjoyed is served with saltfish and Johnny Cakes. Yumm..I have had it in Jamaica, Anguilla, Antigua ..well, most everyone in the Eastern Caribbean. Grace sells a canned version. I cannot say I ever had fresh but am certain it's amazing.. I have seen Ackee trees in Antigua at Galley Bay Hotel and all over Jamaica.

Home cooked Jamaican food? No kidding..do they have Ting? LOVE Ackee..thanks for the tip...

B'Stable Village is cute. Head east to Fin in Dennis for dinner. She has her own oyster bed and uses sustainable foods. After, go to Ice Cream Smuggler for you got it, homemade ice cream. BEFORE, go to Cape Cinema to catch a great foreign or arts film. If it's a dreary rainy night, go to Red Pheasant. It's a cozy kind of place, hence my rec to go on a lousy night. I like the food very well. The bar is tiny but there bar area is my fav place to dine, especially in the winter. A fun spot for afternoon tea and art is Borsari Gallery. I do love the fun vibe at Gina's by the Sea. It's a tradition. Get there mid week early around 6 so you don't have to wait. The good is good, not amazing but it's the setting and well, it's an institution. Lastly a MUST is Sesuit Cafe on the water, eat in the rough, BYOB.

In Yarmouthport as mentioned, there is Lyric where Chef Toby creates dishes. I have not been in a few years. Inaho's sushi is the best on Cape but I would steer you to other spots that reflect Cape Cod more.....The Old Yarmouth Inn has a great bar. I ate there last June for a party and it was ok. Nicer for the oldsters.

If you like music, go to Harvest Wine Bar in Dennis Village. They have a full liquor license but go for the wine or beer, super local music and great art.

Avoid ANY place you cannot make a res on weekends and go mid week.

went to Peddlers years ago...my friends (all locals) and I do not support the place..the owner was not customer friendly on two occasions I visited and the same experience for my friend...long story not worth repeating..

Christians (Chatham on the hill on the right) closed many years ago..I was at C'Worth last year..not a recommended spot at ALL. The place needs a facelift,..was not wowed at ALL.

My daughter and I went to Sunday Brunch recently. I love that they accept reservations for small parties. I appreciated the great service and friendly wait staff. Roland, our Trini waiter was top notch. Super food, really creative and tasty. I had the Huevos Rancheros deconstructed with salsa, a hard tortilla, avocado cream, black beans and scrambled eggs cooked to perfection. My daughter loved her beet salad. the Pimosas's were divine! The portions are small but perfect for me!

My friend loves this dining spot. I visited quite awhile back and never felt an urge to return. I wanted to treat my friend to a night out as she has been going through some life challenges. She chose Villa Roma. We arrived to a packed bar area at 6 PM. The wait was 15 minutes and grew to 45 minutes quickly. Reservations for groups of 5 and more only. We grabbed a high top in the very noisy and quite lively bar (at one point over 20 people waiting for tables) . The really friendly and most helpful hostess served us water and wine after a wait. They serve olives and marinated mushrooms, hot commercially made bread and real butter in plastic tubs and a commercial cheese spread. Tom, the waiter was great and served us swiftly after another long wait. The salad greens were rather limp and dry. I had the little necks (in the shell) with al dente pasta. My friend loved her swordfish. The food is served piping hot. My friend LOVES their tiramisu. The portion was massive with store bought whipped cream. It was not overly sweet but pretty dense. My Italian friend who owns an Italian restaurant in the Caribbean makes a divine version so I feel rather spoiled.

The bill was around 65 for two for 3 wines and two dinners and a dessert. I overheard a local tell some tourists that Villa Roma is the best Italian on Cape Cod. I guess it's a matter of opinion. Go for the lively environment, the great servers and staff and decent food. I do recommend going early or later or mid week / low season unless you don't mind a wait. This is not a super kid friendly spot. There's even a sign outside explaining they do not have kid portions, pizza and do charge for split plates. They don't need the family business, this place clearly has a loyal following.

I concur, go to 28 Atlantic at Wequasset. I too love Buca's and Del Mar. Enjoy!!

Jillian and I dined there with a small group of 4. We dined at the Eastham location as the subject indicates. Cannot wait to go back. They have a nice wine list as well.
