Hi All, I am heading to Barcelona for a week and would love to get your recommendations on great local (non-touristy) restaurants and tapa bars. I am interested in Catalan and fusion cooking. Also, interested in up and coming chefs. I like neighborhood places as well. Also, love Spanish wines so a good wine list would be appreciated.
Also, I love to cook so recommendations on specialty cheese, meat, bread and vegetable markets would be appreciated. Thank you!!

I am a foodie from Seattle coming to San Francisco and want to get your guys take on the best Italian Restaurant. My father in-law is losing his hearing so a quieter place is better. I know that quiet and Italian do not always go together but hey, lets give it a shot. What we like is neighborhood places, not too fancy or expensive and with a great but affordable wine list. Please let me know your recommendations and if you want to know the best of Seattle let me know. Cioa!!
Best Local Venice Restaurant
My In-Laws are going to Venice and are looking for the best local restaurants. Off the beaten path is best and no touristy places. They more like higher end dining with character and above all is a bit quiteter. I say quieter as my father in-law is a bit hard of hearing. Also a good wine list is a must. All recommendations are welcome and thank you so much.

Thanks Joan. I will try the grocery stores. We stayed at a house in Costa Rica and the caretaker was a great cook. Learned a lot about the local cusine. Checked out the other link so thank you for that as well.

I heard the road from Akumal to Chichen Itza via Coba was very slow with many speed bums. Is that really the case. I would assume there are great roadside vendors along the way. Thoughts?

We will be doing the classic tour with some friends that have not traveled much so will be in Akumal as our base and traveling the 'rivera'. We will then head to Chitzen Itza and spend a night here as well. Looking for Open-air markets that have fresh local food, stands, etc. Let me know your thougths as I am love to hear from folks that have been there. Take care.

A group of us are heading the Yucatan and will stay in Akumal for a number of days and take trips from there. We are looking for all the authentic Yucatan restaurants, stands, grocery stores and other recommendations. We would also love to have a local cook go with us to the market and show us how to cook a Yucatan dinner. Please let me know if you have any recommendations.
We would also like to know the places on the beach that you can go eat fresh seafood with the kids. Thank you so much.
