msp - Flourless desserts

I'm looking for flourless desserts in MSP for passover. Does anyone know of any bakeries or restos that have good options?

TIA

msp - cannoli

Does anyone know where I can find mini dessert cannoli in the Twin Cities?

msp - french macarons

I just sampled two of the flavors at Sweets. The texture, size, and taste were perfect. They are soft and chewy, with a slight crisp. The ones at Patrick's and Pardon My French are full of air bubbles and lumps, which creates an overly crunchy outside that shatters and crumbles when bitten into.

Thanks for the rec, Anne!

msp - french macarons

I've tried the macarons at Pardon My French and Patrick's. They were both yummy, but they were so lumpy in appearance and varied by size so much that they are obviously an after-thought for both bakeries. Does anyone in the Twin Cities focus on or specialize in macarons? If not, does anyone at least make smooth, consistently-sized ones?

TIA

kosher in mn?

Yeah, French Meadow claims some items are kosher, but I don't believe they are certified. if they were, it would list the rabbinical info and certification info typically.

kosher in mn?

I found a list of only 4 kosher restuarants/bakeries in MN. There have to be more options than this, right? I'm looking for kosher desserts and candies. Help!

Here's the list: http://www.minnesotakosher.org/restau...

msp - brownie pops & cake balls

Does anyone in the area make brownie pops or cake balls? I've seen them offered online, but I'd like to find some locally.

TIA

custom candy

Anyone know where I can get custom made candy in NYC? I want some candy canes that are shimmery and have colors that match my wedding invite. I know M&Ms does "custom" colors, but those are so played out. Is there a candy shop that custom orders in the area? Does Papa Bubble do things like that?

MSP - Help me save this new Apple Valley restaurant!

i've never even heard of it. i'll have to give it a try. i wonder if they've done any advertising or if they just thought that having a location next to culver's would be advertisement enough.

msp - mochi ice cream

Awesome! It looks like they have it. Crossing my fingers that freezer burn won't be an issue. Thx.

msp - mochi ice cream

i'm looking for mochi ice cream like bubbies, but i would prefer not to pay $70 just to try some. anyone know of a local (or at least mainland) vendor?

msp - marzipan

yeah, i guess that's a thought. i was going to decorate a wedding cake with marzipan fruits or butterflies so i don't know that i need enough for it to be worth patrick's time.

msp - marzipan

Does anyone in the cities make little marzipan figurines (animals, fruits, veggies)? Marzipan World online has some, but they are UK based so I'd have to deal with that mess (exchange rate, long lead time).

Anyone know of an Italian bakery or restaurant that has torrone candy? What about nougat logs?

Bachelor Party Dinner - MSP

You could do the Pedal Pub. Why limit the party to just one location? Don't worry, there is a sober driver who steers and once your group gets too inebriated to help pedal, they do the work. You could stop and drink at multiple bars downtown. It's definitely different and would be fun. It's recently legal in MN, so the groom-to-be would probably be surprised. It's BYOB and you can bring your own food, too (or bring on food from one of your pit stops).

msp - petit fours

Anyone know where I can find some petit fours in the metro? I want to serve some at an event, but don't know of anywhere that has them. I checked Patrick's and Pardon My French, but neither place has them.

msp - blondies

Thanks. I was disappointed with Blondie's. You would think that a place named for a dessert would feature more than just one variety. I was hoping they would have had some really interesting twists on the typical blondie, like raspberry chocolate chips or any kind of chip at all. I wasn't blown away by the taste either. It was good, but it didn't really stand out.

msp - blondies

Anyone experienced some great blondies in the metro? I haven't come across any. Plain ole brownies are everywhere, but where are all the white chocolate or craisin filled blondies? At this point, I'll take a blondie w/regular chocolate chips.

MSP - cookies and candies

good idea. i bet someone in the area is ABLE to make similar cookies as a custom order. i want to use them for wedding favors, so perhaps the qty would make it worth the baker's time.

I've had these before, they didn't taste good at all. They were mostly just for show. Thanks for replying though.

MSP - cookies and candies

Yeah, I agree Eleni's is pretty spendy for a few cookies, but they are so cute. I was hoping there was a local, more reasonably priced option.

MSP - cookies and candies

Does anyone know of a place in the Twin Cities (or metro area) that has cookies similar to those of Eleni's in NYC? http://www.elenis.com/

I'm also looking for a candy store that actually carries candy. It seems every place that calls itself a "candy" store really only sells chocolate. Candyland in MPLS basically just carries chocolate covered things (pretzels, Oreos, etc), but their selection of old school lollipops is VERY limited. They don't sell any barber poles (candy canes without the hook) or ribbon candy. Where in the area can I find these and other classic, old-school candies in Minnesota?
