Holy crap this is the toughest question. I would have to divide this answer into categories. For best pasta (outside of my father's kitchen) it would have to be in Capri, by the seaside. I know, I know - it's touristy as hell there. But damn was this pasta amazing. Big, broad homemade noodles with so many delicious herbs baked right in, the freshest seafood and the smoothest sauce with just the perfect amount of olive oil. Every time I think of this meal I have to take a moment of silence. Best souvlaki hands down (for me) is in Athens at a place called Thanasis. Also in a touristy area but my fiancee (who is Greek from Athens) swears by it so I think it's still somewhat credible. My favourite place for 'cheap' Chinese is Congee Wong at Leslie/Finch in Toronto. I dream of their congee and fried turnip. Heartbreaking portion sizes. Yummmmmm... Best Chinese restaurant - Ho King at Spadina/College. Oh Wow, I still have so many other categories to cover: poutine, fat french fries, Sunday Roast... I think I have to stop now. Yes, I am a total food slut.
My current drink of choice:
Who cares about drinking when there is so much food in the world to try?
I really wish I could:
Get paid to eat food and talk/write about it.
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
I like to steam dim sum & serve as appetizers.
My favorite comfort food:
Potatoes in any form.
My top 5 favorite restaurants:
1) Ho King - Chinese 2) Duff's - Wings & Beer 3) Thanasis - Souvlaki 4) La Vecchia - Seafood risotto 5) Congee Wong - heart-warming carbohydrates
