Need recommendations for private room in Baltimore restaurant for reunion event

Every five years, the members of our freshman dorm meet in Baltimore for our college reunion. On a Friday night, we have a group of between 25 and 40 people who enjoy a dinner with excellent food. We'd love to find a place that has a nice, casual setting. Preferably, we'd like the restaurant to be within a twenty minute drive of the Homewood campus. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Citi Field Eats

This past week, I attended 5 Mets games with my husband and daughter and sampled a wide variety of the different foods available at the stadium. Here's a review:
Blue Smoke - the star here was the wonderfully tender and moist pulled pork on a brioche (extra delicious dipped into a side of barbecue sauce) (highly recommended), ribs were OK as were the fries.
Shake Shack - moist, perfectly cooked burger with a tasty sauce (surprisingly delicious considering the mass production required at the stadium) (recommended), and good milkshakes
Box Frites - OK fries with sauces that were not very interesting. Far better fries were found at Nathan's.
Nathan's - Hot dogs always good but this year they have corn dogs - which my daughter loved and we're starting to do a corn dog count for the year (in addition to the Mets wins and losses!)
Seafood area - (I can't remember the name but it is back behind center field) - quite good fried flounder sandwich. The Long Island corn and clam chowder was slighty sweet and contained some ham as well (certainly not the best chowder that I've had but good for a cold night).
Acela Club - We had brunch here prior to a weekend game. Starters from the "Market Table" were quite good including the charcuterie table with excellent prosciutto, salami, tomato salad and buffalo mozarella. The bread selection included some whole grain, brick oven, raisin walnut among others and all was tasty. In addition, there were bagels with good smoked salmon and sable (although the presentation could have been better for the latter). A fruit platter, muffins, croissants, and a cheese platter were all delicious. The hot market table selections were not as appetizing. For our main courses, we had a delicious beef brisket sandwich which was served on an onion brioche type bun and accompanied by delicious sweet potato fries. (Highly recommended). The smoked ribs were tasty albeit a little chewy but they were accompanied by dense, overly chewy and quite spicy corn bread and tasteless cole slaw. The roasted chicken with chimichurri sauce was tender.
I'd be interested in hearing other people's food experiences at Citi Field. Thanks and LETS GO METS!!!!!

Washington D.C. restaurant with great food fit for formal attire

We just returned from DC. We had a romantic dinner at Restaurant Eve - a lovely spot with great service and food. Preceding this, we had drinks at the PX bar - no sign, just a blue light by the entrance. Very interesting cocktails. One included celery root, coconut milk, white truffle oil and Hawaiian salt. The culinary highlight of our trip was dinner at Komi. We ordered the tasting meal which included 15 mezzethakia (small one or two bite appetizers) which were all delicious, with varied ingredients and interesting presentations. Our mezzethakia included shima aji, kampachi, maine sweet shrimp, a "deconstructed" taramosalata (caviar over house made mayo on a small brioche), oyster, scallop, king salmon, a "fried caesar salad", octopus, hangar steak tartare, and an interesting "dessert" mezzethakia including a date stuffed with mascarpone, an "animal" cracker with a strong cheese taste, and a smore. We then had four pasta dishes, wonderful slow roasted suckling pig and four interesting desserts to end the meal. The accompanying wine pairings were unique including a greek "champagne" and a number of Italian and Spanish wines. Our dinner lasted about three hours during which time three different waiters choreographed our meal perfectly (and got a strenuous work-out walking back and forth from the kitchen to our table at the very front of the restaurant). We've had the opportunity to savor amazing tasting menus at many fine NY restaurants but I must say that Komi was equal to any of them in the quality of the ingredients, the presentation and the unique combination of food. Thanks for your recommendations.

Washington D.C. restaurant with great food fit for formal attire

We've been to his restaurant in NYC. The food was good the prices ridiculous, and the service was too over the top for me. How does Alain Ducasse's place in Washington compare?

Thanks for the info. We have reservations for Komi as well on this trip - sounds like we will definitely be eating well. Everything we've heard about Komi sounds great.

Good eats near Citi Field?

We are Mets season ticket holders and will be attending many games this summer with our foodie daughter. Since we'll be spending a lot of time traveling to Citi Field this summer, we'd like to find some recommended ethnic restaurants for a summer culinary tour of Queens. Any recommendations? Also, does anyone have info regarding the potential food choices and sit-down dining options at Citi Field?

Washington D.C. restaurant with great food fit for formal attire

Thank you all so very much for the recommendations. We had dinner at CityZen on a prior visit to Washington and we had a wonderful meal. I don't think we'll make it out to Restaurant Eve although I looked it up and for our next trip to Washington, we'll give it a try. I'm deciding between Citronelle and Marcel's. Any help with the decision making?

Washington D.C. restaurant with great food fit for formal attire

My husband and I are visiting Washington in April. We'll be attending a black tie event early in the evening and want to find a restaurant with great food where we will feel comfortable arriving in formal attire. (Lively bar with interesting cocktails a plus!)
