ORD area eats?
Thanks! Too bad my trip was cancelled last minute(THE ECONOMY). But I will keep this list in my travel bag. I've been stuck in ORD many times(THE WEATHER) and it will be useful. I'd rather chew my own arm off than eat airport food again! I hear all the raves for Peruvian rotisserie chicken( I didn't expect that), we have "Pio Pio's" in NYC(Queens and Manhattan locations, BTW Queens is cheaper). The Queens location is in Jackson Heights, Northern Blvd and 85st. They have 2 store fronts, one is sit down the other is to go. Less than 10 minutes from LaGuardia Airport if you ever find yourself stuck there. I don't know if they deliver, I'm too impatient. I'll be behind the wheel half way there B4 I can call. If you have room walk half a block east(twd's 86st) for Mama's Empenadas (Columbian patties) if you have room. It's a hole in the wall, but they're good. BASTA! Again, I appreciate your responses, milli grazie! Now I'll have to schedule a detour or long layover on my next trip 'cause you people are making me hungry!
ORD area eats?
I'll be in the O'hare airport area for a week(work). I'm from NYC, Italian-American, so no need for for reccomendations for pizza or pasta. Looking for Chicago food I can't get back home. Fried chicken, southern styled BBQ, steak houses, German or Mexican close to ORD or the Blue line. Hot dogs? I already know Portelli's(good, different from our dirty dogs) is there something else better close by? Any other ideas for somebody stuck in Rosemont for a week? Skip Italian,Greek, Asian(Chinese,Korean,Japanese,Thai) and Indian. No offense but I can get that here from the 7 line(subway). PLZ, No haute cuisine, atmosphere not required, blue collared crowd, no wives, a hole-in-the-wall with damn good food or at least better than I'll get in a hotel is what I'm looking for. Thanks E7
