Three Un-named and Un-Identified restaurants in the NY Times business piece.

The third sounds like Maurepas.

Chargrilled Oysters. Acme/Felix/Dragos, my 2¢

Fat City Dragos is the only place to go. Somehow, they are able to apply higher, more concentrated heat than any other place in town. To my mind, these remain the single best bite of food I've eaten in New Orleans.

Researched foodie itinerary, help me narrow down

Coquette, Mariza, Doris, and Maurepas. Domenica, Butcher, and find two more.

Alzina's

I spoke with her after the G&G article came out, but never ended up going. I would be willing to organize a group, if anyone wants to go one saturday night

Help! Taking the boss out for dinner and drinks in New Orleans

You should add the Davenport Lounge at the Ritz, as well as Polo Club Lounge at the Windsor Court as possible after dinner venues

Warehouse Grille

Rivershack at lunch is wonderful because Chef Mike Baskind cooks then and only then.

I was originally told Craig and Kimmie were somehow involved with Warehouse Grille, but my impression is that they were menu consultants more than anything else.

I went once. Bland and uninteresting.

Brunch at Brennans

I have always been of the opinion this is the worst tourist trap in town. Extraordinarily overpriced, plastic menus, and mediocre food.

In a town with a myriad of wonderful restaurants, Brennan's,IMHO, is eminently skipable.

Grill Room?

This (http://www.grillroomneworleans.com/si...) is where I got $140/person for the Grill Room with pairings. $280 x 1.25 = $350

I called Revolution this moring and asked - their 5 course tasting menu starts at $125, and sommelier's choice of pairings is an additional $75/person.

Crawfish

I am searching for a new favorite place. Crab Trap was hands down the best, but is now gone.

Seither's, like most places in town, doesnt purge their mudbugs. They also dont pull out the ones whose tails dont curl.

A lot of places will serve you a tray of 3lbs or 5lbs. My objection is, they dont boil them when you order, so a lot of the time, they have been sitting in boil liquid quite some time. This leaves their crawfish mushy and waterlogged. Als, many times a claw or two will have fallen off during the boiling process.n When they scoop up your order, you get a lot of lose claws as a result.

These complaints are not limited to Seither's - they apply to Castnet, Today's Ketch, etc. Will have to wait till I get to go back to Acadiana - Hawk's and Cajun Claws remain my two favorites.

Grill Room?

Grill Room is $85 for food, $140 with pairings. 2 people, with 25% for tax and tip = $350
Stella is $125/person for food, $250 with pairings. 2 people, with 25% for tax and tip = $625
August is $97 for food, $147 with pairings. 2 people, with 25% for tax and tip = $367.50.
Restaurant Revolution is $125 for food, $200 with pairings. 2 people, with 25% for tax and tip = $500

Pricey? seems like a relative bargin to me.

Mondays at Martinique
Next Monday, a well-established Houma restaurant will begin making a weekly visit to New Orleans, in the style of a pop-up, but this bayou country standout isn't known for its gumbo or etouffee. Rather, Cristiano Ristorante (724 High St., Houma, 985-223-1130; www.cristianoristorante.com) is an upscale Italian restaurant, founded by Cristiano Raffignone and Kelly Barker in 2000.

Pop-ups

Went to Fat Falafel last night at Publiq House, and thought it was terrific (esp their garlic fries)

Went to Salty Swine last weekend at Vega, and really enjoyed their stuff.

Have been to We've got Soul, and love what they do.

Went to Dim Sum and Then Some last time, and plan on trying it again tonight. Thought it was OK last time, hoping it gets better.

Liked some of Pete's stuff, others were just ok when he was serving at Stein's - have you found his quality has improved now that he is preparing his menu items in advance?

Haven't tried Tsai or Kukhnya yet - would love to hear reports.

Twitter is great once you know about these places, but I am still looking for a resource to keep track of all these places.
