Why no cast iron on cooking shows?

http://www.chow.com/stories/10413

"Many fans of cast iron cooking see the little bit of extra flavor infused in your dish from past meals as a big selling point of cast iron"

I've always been under the impression that a well seasoned cast iron pan adds subtle flavors since its never washed. And all that bacon grease has to amount to something.

Why no cast iron on cooking shows?

Minus all the science, isn't one of the benefits of cast iron the flavor that it will add to your food over time?

Seeking: inexpensive restaurant near 53rd Street & 2nd Ave

Depending on what you order, my favorite restraunt in the area is Seo on 49th between 2nd and 3rd. Try to get a table in the dining area in the back as it has a great view.
