Columbo's in Hyannis
I think the owner struggles with getting a good crew in there to do it right... Even at his other establishment(Roadhouse) I have seen a drop in consistency & quality , I'm sure the summer people will hit it but us seasoned year-rounders will always look around for something better for your $$..
Nantucket
Boarding House/ Pearl same chef/owner is nice ,,Ships Inn as well ..Todd English opening this weekend downtown,,,,,,,,, American Seasons has a nice menu .. Drive to Wauwinet for a drink,,or lunch..As a former Islander, no trip is complete w/out stopping by the Chicken Box for a cold one Let me know how the White Elephant is I worked there years ago. Upper Cape resident here love Chappy Grill (west falm.)La Cucina(downtown falm,) ,, Agree w/ C.C.Guy not a big fan of the Barnstable Tavern if over that way I'd rather go to the Dolphin or down 6a further,,I think the Chef is overrated,,,,

Shrimp boil
As a Chef here go w/ 1-2lbs of shrimp per person depends on size the 16-20 count per pound is nice 21-25 little smaller in size(the number per pound),,Potatoes should be around 20lbs depending on size and if u cut them.Corn 1-2ears per person again depends on the group..Follow any good recipe for the shrimp boil do corn and potatoes in same pot start w' potatoes first then add corn later lots of seasonings and a good salad should get u there Enjoy Chow..Ps can add that shrimp broth to Pot/Corn for flavor
Help me like broccoli
Blanch in boiling salted water till tender drain into iced water ,,,when ready saute in good e.v.o.o. season w/ salt and pepper, add juice of a lemon ur good to go..if you like next time get more creative with adding Parmigiano Cheese light crumbs,,
Eh. Panera Bread. - moved from New England board
I think that they can be hit or miss,, Agree w/ Bri,, They are fast food but really struggle on a consistence products store to store,, On the soups make sure they have at least more than half or more in the insert or its been sitting for a while...Sandwiches can be decent,,Tomatoe pesto was nice for me @Marlboro Mass store The bread is the winner by far
A cheesy mystery.....
Hello as "Fromage Lover" You have a real beauty on your hands,,Similar to Bries it has a nice flavor as you stated,, I would leave it out 30 mins or more to soften and maybe add other cheeses if u need, Cheddar(aged),Blue-Veined(Roquefort) with some nice bread or crackers..Add some fresh berries for garnish..A good Dessert wine , Sauternes, Ports are a nice drink choice as well to finish the evening,, Enjoy,,
