I ate at the Prairie Bistro not too long ago (at the Enjoy Centre) and remember commenting what a nice place it would be for a wedding reception. They closed part of it later in th afternoon for a private function so they obviously do that sort of thing, but I don't know any of the details. It might be worth checking out though...it's a beautiful space, and the food was good.
All the best,and congratulations!
We tried the Japonais deal at the Mirage tonight (7 dollar drinks and appetizers from 5-8). The drinks were great - 3 different cocktails, including their signature "Flowering Orchid" , are offered for $7 instead of the usual $14. The two I tried (the Orchid and the Red One) were delicious. They also had a pretty good selection of beers for $4, and a nice flight of sakes (3 different ones, all clearly labeled with the differences explained...really well done) for $15.
The appetizers, though tasty, were such tiny portions you couldn't help but feel ripped off, even at $7. The Kobe Beef Slider was just that...a single tiny burger. Slider - singular. There were at most 6 pieces of calamari...again, who wants to pay more than a dollar for EACH PIECE of calamari? The sushi rolls were better. We had the unagi and avocado and the tempura shrimp - they were delicious, with six pieces each. We didn't do the "Two can dine for $45" deal (you share two appetizers, an entree and a dessert) but if the size of the appetizers was anything to go by, I wouldn't go hungry!
