recent NY transplant seeking two sandwiches--a cubano & an italian hero

I'm figuring somewhere in North Beach the hero of my dreams is hiding, can anyone tell me where? I've no clue where to start looking for the cubano.
Thanks so much for any help you can offer!

Ghoetta

They serve it at the super yum Alias on Clinton Street, only during brunch I think.

Charleston's Best Restaurants for NYC Foodies?

Wait at Ippudo for lunch?

Went with 2 friends for lunch on Tuesday at about 2pm--NO WAIT WHATSOEVER! I hadn't been in months because as much as I enjoy their ramen, it isn't worth the hour & half wait I encountered the last three times I attempted to go. I'll never bother with dinner there again! It is all about lunch.

best italian rainbow cookies?

My vote goes to Bruno's on Laguardia Pl.

deli with great matzah ball soup

Not a deli, but Blue Ribbon makes an amazing matzoh ball soup. Totally worth the $10.

Anyone know if Samsong (Thai rum) is avail in NYC?

Returned from Thailand about 6 months (damn that was fast!) ago. Everyone calls it thai whiskey, but the bottle says rum. Regardless we spent many nights TRASHED on a combo of Sang Som, Red Bull & Coke. I brought back a bottle of Sang Som as well as a few bottles of thai Red Bull (different than what we get here, not carbonated). I never opened the Sang Som & only have one bottle left of the Red Bull, but if someone is really craving the combo, I'd probably be willing to sell it, since vacay drinking and my real life don't really mix. Is there a private message option on here?

Best Cupcakes in Tri-state area

My vote goes to Sugar Sweet Sunshine.

Best latte in NYC?

Ninth Street Espresso (either location: 9th & Ave C or 10th btwn Aves A & B). Beyond their baristas' lovely latte art skills, it justs tastes amazing. no sugar required.
