Thank you for your "third." When a tourist, do as tourists do. So we will decide for ourselves. This Board is such a wealth of information.

Wow, so many wonderful places to go and so little time to do them. Have taken all recommendations and streamlined our selections. Will post when we return. Thanks to all who have replied.

Yes, we do have a Babbo reservation and consider ourselves lucky. We only chose the lobster rolls at the Lobster Place because we wanted to see Chelsea Market. Is it worth our trip there or should we go in another direction?

The cuisine trumps the atmosphere for us. Just excellent food that cannot be found in the midwest.

Would you recommend another place?

Perhaps I did not use the term appropriately. We just seek out foods that are not as abundant in the midwest--asian, etc.

Home in in the midwest and we are arriving this weekend.

Thank you for your honestly concerning Nobu 57. When in Manhattan we always try to eat foods that we do not have at home. Steaks are a mainstay in our menu here, so another ethnic reservation perhaps.

Traveling to NYC for a few days with my sister. We have chosen Babbo, Red Egg for dim sum, Milk Bar for a quick snack, Chelsea Market for the lobster rolls at the Lobster Place and donuts at Amy's Breads, Sushi Yasuda and Nobu 57 for sushi and Balaboosta because it looks interesting. Love all the recommendations I have found on this Board and know you can help us make this trip even better.

Upcoming Manhattan visit to Little Italy and Chinatown

More looking than shopping. This is a first time visit for us and we just want to get a feel for the two areas. Definitely want to visit Di Palo's and definitely dim sum. Perhaps Lombardi's. Other suggestions greatly appreciated. There is much discussion on dim sum it is difficult to select.

Upcoming Manhattan visit to Little Italy and Chinatown

During our upcoming Manhattan visit, we are planning a day of shopping in Little Italy and Chinatown. Would greatly appreciate a recommendation for a early dinner or perhaps late lunch before returning to our hotel for the theatre that evening.

Magnoila Bakery

From what I have read Two Little Red Hens has the consensus for the best cupcakes, am I correct? We are only going to be in Manhattan three days and don't want to waste time at mediocre places.

Cioppino in the Midtown area

Thank you for your responses. I have only eaten it in the Bay area and it truly is a favorite of mine. However, since New York City has many diverse choices I was in hope of finding it there. I never cease to be amazed at all I can learn on Chowhound. Again, thanks for your posts. I will definitely try your suggestions.

Cioppino in the Midtown area

Seeking reccomendations for excellent Cioppino. Prefer the midtown area but not opposed to leaving the area. Thanks in advance.

First Timers Visit to Manhattan

Can we find quality dinners for under $40 in Manhattan? We will be going to the theatre and would welcome suggestions for restaurants in the Theatre District. We enjoy all types of food and appreciate your suggestions.

Did we select well for San Francisco?

Shane, many thanks to you for your advice. Do not wish to offend anyone. Incanto it is. We have two other nights, any other recommendations?

Did we select well for San Francisco?

Our group loves chinese and vietnamese. Perhaps I used the incorrect term but my intentions were to find wonderful, memorable restaurants and I appreciate all the suggestions.

Best cioppino in San Francisco

Many restaurants featue cioppino on their menu. Where should we go to eat the best?

Could you make some recommendations for moderately priced restaurants?

Did we select well for San Francisco?

First time visitor to San Francisco. We especially like oriental, seafood and italian. We have chosen Slanted Door, Yang Sing, Betelnut, and Pesce Seafood. We will also visit the Ferry Marketplace during the open market. Did we select well or have we left a must experience off our list? We wish to eat well but not over spend.

New visitor to Napa

First time visitor to Napa. Have reservations at Hurleys and Ristorante Allegra. Did we select well?
