Rachael Ray, Bobby Flay, Guy Fieri Return In New Food Network Series

Oh, people make remarks about Ina's clothes as well and another website refers to her blouses as "shents" (shirt + tent).

So agree with pretty much everything you said nothing.

Shake Shack is coming

Nope, only CM (across from what was then a nice Edwards theater) and after the family sold, there was one for awhile in Irvine.

Open, diced raw onion. Worked at one for 3 years in the late 70s/early 80s, besides eating at every West Coast location many times.

My favorite, and you had to request the onions cooked or they came raw, which was fine with me.

As was posted previously, the 3 same items are $10 difference in price- whichever one you like better.

If I'm paying $17.50 I will be most likely be bypassing both of these spots and having a meal at a nice sit-down spot, not "fast food" or "fast casual".

Another tipping question?

I thought when this 3% surcharge started, for healthcare (and there was a long thread on the LA board) at places like Lucques- the customer could request that it be removed.

Is this not the case in your experience?

Personally, it doesn't really bother me and I tip along the lines as you.

Vegas foodie adventure

You are confusing Jewish-style deli with kosher.

Vintage LA diners with great food

Also, Donald Bren owner of The Irvine Co. controls many areas and he likes his architecture like his women- under 40 and fake-looking.

Thank-You Note From Julia Child Is Restaurant Executive’s Treasure

That's wonderful. She gave me a signed book, and I had to buy another copy to keep the original pristine.

Market Shoppers: Get out of the quick check out line. You have too many items...

I've now asked at all 3 of my regular groceries, and none of them (managers or checkers) can say anything.

The nicest and most expensive of the 3 always has enough checkers on hand that it doesn't make any difference.

Can I get a job as a wait staff person? What do I need to know?

Yes, and when you are a regular for one of those special people and they immediately bring your drink... bliss!

I'd have to disagree with that, especially the "look at the menu to even place an order".

And I eat out quite a lot.

Older people should be cut some slack. I'll offer to unload their cart (especially if they are in one of those electric scooter things), although one of my regular stores has someone who does things like that.

I'm complaining about the oblivious, much younger group who can't even make it through the line without getting of their cell phone.

If it is the exact same flavor of cat food (or whatever), I see them do the quantity- but I'm guessing for inventory reasons they have to do each individually if it is not.

I've had that too, but if anyone actually shoved me (depending on the circumstances) I would be calling the police. There are cameras all over most stores.

Seriously, people are actually shoving you?

I've never seen that in 40 years of daily shopping.

The two stores I shop at, the checkers cannot say anything to the offenders (confirmed with managers) and leave it up to the customers.

I have no problem speaking up, but many times they are just so rude and thoughtless.

Sorry sister, but 16 cans of cat food along with your other stuff is over the limit.

And my favorite...I think I have the change, followed by 5 minutes of purse-digging.

small dining room for intimate wedding reception?

Check out Dizzy As Is in south Laguna. It's a funky place that's coming up on 40 years. They don't have a private room, but they do have an outdoor covered terrace.

Dinner prices include an aperitif, pate and soup or salad with your entrée. Prices start in the $20-ish top out at under $50.

The Pitz family are lovely people and would most likely try and work with you.

small dining room for intimate wedding reception?

As New Trial said, it is going to be tough- even w/o minimum with wine/drinks, most places are going to be around $100 a person anyway.

It might be helpful if you posted some of the places you contacted and budget. You may have to think out of the box on this one.

Also, what day of the week is this and when.

PIZZA DELIVERY CHARGES

PIZZA DELIVERY CHARGES

Ipse replied to someone who was saying the restaurant was saving money by you not dining in- not the difference between to-go and delivery.

Also, the place I most often use has their own trucks- so that would explain the restaurant getting the delivery fee (to me, at least).

PIZZA DELIVERY CHARGES

Some people just keep posting without even reading a reply, ipse.

As I said upthread, many of the pizza spots in my area are takeout or delivery only, due to crazy expensive rents- maybe a few tables, but no service.

I don't understand how someone can claim "scam", when all you have to do is ask what the charge is before ordering.

And this is coming from someone who wouldn't deliver a pizza in Toronto for $1000, lol!

PIZZA DELIVERY CHARGES

Now I'm kind of curious, so Thursday is pizza delivery night for me and I'll ask the driver. Delivery is $4 and I always tip $5.

This place does have a fleet of trucks, so I know drivers aren't using their own cars like some of the other places.
