Peychaud Bitters in Philly--WHERE TO BUY them

Dibruno's a number of state stores have been tried-

I'll check Green Aisle

it shouldn't be this difficult

Peychaud Bitters in Philly--WHERE TO BUY them

Looking to buy some- need some for my wild turkey cocktails.

Where do I buy it?

best burger in philly

Sketch gets my vote too- anyway from the Center City Burger Wars, which I would lump PYT into (although Tommy Up's got a great west coast offering)...Sketch's american Kobe with harissa aioli, L, T and pickle on le Bus. A nce thick vanilla shake and some hand cut fries....So good

funky vibe in honest to goodness fishtown makes it taste even better

Top 5 Under the Radar Spots to Watch the Phils

now seriously...25th and Thompson...marvin will prolly server you the wings

Union Trust

I've always found the AC at S&W on rittenhouse to be great relief from the heat....and food at the bar ain't too bad....stay away from the pricey chops though

Dedicated Philly Chowhound Board

how many people should need to petition to get one right? its amazing....

Brunch at General Lafayette Inn

wow...thats terrible. I read the email from the owner earlier this week, and was rooting for these guys to make it....after reading these posts and hearing some consistent mismanagement on their part I can't say i'm still rooting for them.

I've never been to Gen. La Inn. but i did eat and drink at the Tiedhouse in fairmount when it was open and found the beers over priced and the food lacking.

Maybe these people should just run the brewery and sell beer. forget a restaurant or brew pub....that seems to be what they can handle.

Cases of local beer for under $30?

i could drink the pikeland all night and all day for the rest of my life and be happy

What to eat at Xochitl?

it doesn't matter....everything is good. well done food and service all around!!!

UNION TRUST- Yes or No??

where'd you hear that wordbond??...i've had some friends work there since opening...some still there, some gone.

blockley pourhouse

Any one been yet? hows the vibe? hows the food? saw pics on Meal ticket and looked industrial to me. Interested in their food though....holla

Kite and Key - What Happened?

thats very disappointing....i thought it was a great spot...good service and impressive food.

Best Wings in Philly

IMO...take out wings are close to take out fries....the steam/ heat in the to go boxes ruin a good wing...by the time you get it home....they are terrible

Best Wings in Philly

What ya got? I've had Moriarty's (always good, esp if you like them hot) and byrne's in port richmond (on the small side but tasty) are the two philly heavyweights IMHO.

recently had Ladder 15 which were dry and terrible and Pub and Kitchens, which were awesome in honey whiskey sauce, but small.

anywhere off the radar that i should be heading to get my fix.

a decent beer list is a plus too

Philly - dogs, I mean hot dogs

Paesano'son Girard Ave...not a Hot dog place....but it has what you're looking for....it will blow your mind

Royal Tavern - S. Philly

since last June I'd say. it was mid season at CBP when he took over Harry the K's.

Laban

agreed....Nichols rules.

Royal Tavern - S. Philly

Have you tried Rich Friedman's (i think thats his name) food at Harry the K's...he used to run the kitchen at the Sidecar, 21st and Christian)....now he makes his own sausage and other great stuff at Harry the K's....if you haven't gone.....go

Philly - Where to have a nice dinner for 12-15 people on a Friday or Saturday?

quick list-
el vez, bridgid's in fairmount, ralphs on 9th and catherine, or give modo mio a shot....i doubt they'll be able to accomodate, but worth a shot

Royal Tavern - S. Philly

just go eat at the stadium...Citizen Bank has better food than most stadiums in the country...leave the royal for a week day night without the crowds

Rank Citizen Bank Park Food Stands

your better off heading up to McNally's in Chestnut Hill fof the real thing when it comes to the Schimitter. I had one last night at the game and it was ok.

Ladder 15 on Sansom St

Ate there prior to Bruce on Tuesday.

Interior is kinda cold, nothing inside screams firehouse (like jack's in fairmount or even the old engine 46 on reed near movie theater. The place is owned by the Mad river guys and reminds me of a Public House kind of atmosphere and the kind of crowd they had. (which wasn't much, though they are new)

Split corn and crab fritters and loillipop wings as appetizers. unimpressed. Sauce on wings was weak. fritters were ok, nothing to crave.

unimpressive beer list, they have a rotating Sly fox on draft along with usual suspects....blah. the craftiest bottle was Yards Pale Ale....no Philly Brewing Co, Dogfish....weak.

entrees, I had the burger and my lady had the chicken gyro (i think it was called). burger was cooked to order temp (always a plus), had decent flavor, but is served on sourdough slices...the juice of the burger and heavy flavored mayo makes the bottom piece of bread saturated and messy (not good messy). The chicken on the gyro was way dried out and had weak lemon flavor. The tzatziki sauce was decent, but couldn't save the dish of dried chicken and dried out pita.

our total was something like $50....kinda steep for one beer and a less than stellar meal.

likely won't go back, not on my dime anyway, for eats. and def not the kind of place I'd go and drink.....lack appeal

best part about the meal was leaving and going to see The Boss.

The decline of the Italian Hoagie

White house is a must any time I am in AC. their Italian with hot peppers in not only huge, but addictive. I'm salivating

maia in villanova closed?

and Radnor Rolls!!!!!

Duck Confit

I had the duck confit at Meritage more than a year ago...not sure if its still onn the meny, but it was a fine version of a dish that easily gets screwed up by most kitchens.

Dinner near North Star Bar - 27th & Poplar Sts

report back on ERA (or bridgid's)...art museum area always tough with parking...so i rarely go there....but lots of decent places

Dinner near North Star Bar - 27th & Poplar Sts

Aspen is closed and has been since late October. Not sure if they are going to re open or not....

Any recent Snockey's reports?

its never been a knock your socks off place....good dependable seafood. i like to sit at the raw bar...some oysters, some good soup and bullshit with the staff on off hours

always a New Years day stop for me on my way back to 2nd street for post parade festivites
