Anchorage AK gift ideas

I'm new to the Anchorage area and will be heading home (lower 48) on vacation. Anyone have any recommendations on gifts? I'm thinking meat in a cooler as part of my checked bags...

Thanks.

Brunch- PHX and ABQ

Thanks so much!

Brunch- PHX and ABQ

If anybody is familiar with both these areas, I am looking for a brunch place in PHX similar in quality to The Grove in ABQ. Does anybody have any leads?

Australian Cookbooks

Any recommendations Re: Australian Cookbooks? The only lead I have now is the books by Donna Hay.

Thanks,

OB

Anchorage Korean/asian grocery

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good asian grocer in the Anchorage area?

Norfolk area Whiskey

I'm looking for a store in the Norfolk area that has a greater variety than your average liquor store. Any suggestions?

Molinari Salame

I'm quite a ways away from San Fran but found some Molinari Salame at my local grocer. I'd like to bring it to a family event (17 hr flight) and would like to know if it will keep. Is it cured or does it need to be chilled?

Thanks.

MosBurger recreated

On a recent trip to Hawaii, I was disappointed to find their Mos Burger location closed a not-so-recent 4 years ago. I loved their original Mos Burger and wish they had a location that didn't require a passport to visit.

Since it's been a few years, anybody have any good ideas for recreating the Mos Burger at home?

Cooking for single living

For all you single living folk out there,

When you're cooking for one, what do you cook?

I still have a soft spot for instant ramen but as I've matured, so has the ramen. I'm no longer satisfied with just straight ramen. In goes some tofu and dried black mushrooms. Or when I'm feeling frisky, some leftover roast pork and curry.

Eh. Panera Bread. - moved from New England board

Well since we're all taking swings at the Panera pinata...

My thoughts: Artisan (I'll believe it when I see it) bread for the strip-mall crowd.

What kind of bakery opens at 6:30 am? One that's not really a bakery.

Food is adequate. And that's about it.

Pancake Toppings

I spent some time on a British army base.

Pancake Toppings

I was recently introduced to the Full English Breakfast. As a former boss used to say, "It's exactly the same, yet completely different." Some of the toppings led to my confusion. For our pancakes, we had honey in one bowl and, what I'm guessing was, Spun Honey in a second. I'm looking for confirmation on the second bowl being spun honey. The second bowl having a consistency unlike the SueBee spun honey found in US stores.

Any ideas?
