Best donut in Manhattan?
Doughnut Plant (DP) forever! My personal fave - yeast/coconut (though I just checked out the website and can't wait to try Banana Pecan) and the Creme Brulee is tasty. Cake - Tres Leches is a fave of my significant other (I wouldn't turn it down) though I like the Blackout with a big glass of milk. I'll have to try Balthazar's chocolate. They listed Churros on the DP website. Is it seasonal or did they run out? I appreciate the use of quality ingredients in addition to tasting good. Recently tried Dunkin' Donuts and was suprised how much I didn't like them anymore. Krispy Kreme was fun for a bit but I'll always come back to Doughnut Plant. Will try Donut Pub for the heck of it. After all, sugar is my drug of choice.
Grass Fed Beef?
Where do you live? There's a lot of 'burbs out there! Check out the website for the Weston Price Foundation (very into healthy raised animals for eating) and the Eat Wild website. Keep in mind that no meat raised in the northeast is going to be 100% grass fed because there's no grass in the winter months. The animals are eating hay/silage. Do you have a car? What's your preferred mode of transport? There may be sources closer than you think. Seek and ye shall find! Consider joining a CSA as some may have access to meat.
Awesome Arepas and Pupusas hit Commack!
Went with companion and had one "tasting menu" and one pupusa with the works. Also, free margaritas. Great salad, really good salmon dish and awesome rice pudding. Got the bean & cheese pupusas with garlic brown beans...very filling. Happy to find out the chef/owner uses some produce from Rottkamp Farm and he's all about gluten free. Will be back and am spreading the word. However, it did make me want to go to the Red Hook ballfields (or wherever the vendors have gone that were at the Red Hook ballfields...Brooklyn Flea/Coney Island).
How can I change my "name" or unregister?
Hi there!
I want to change my "name". The "myChow" won't let me do that. OK, so then I'd like to disappear & reregister with another "name". So, how do I do it?
Yes, I am almost computer illiterate and my apologies for that in advance.
