Brunch at Vinoteca is good but the menu, as I remember it, is a bit limited.

I used to agree about Creme on U Street, but holy crap, the service is abominable!

Commissary also has pretty crappy service, and the food is always mediocre. The huevos rancheros is decent, but not worth the trouble. In fact, none of the restaurants owned by the Eat DC group (Commissary, Logan Tavern, Grillfish, etc) have bad service and mediocre food.

I'm wondering if there are any sorts of candies or sweets that are either unique to DC or originated there. I'm trying to find something to send to a friend in another city that's representative of DC, to the extent possible.
