Looking for decent Bahn Mi in Raleigh, Durham, NC area.
I'll second the bahn mi at Spize Cafe. They simply call them baguettes, and they're excellent.
Looking for Kosher for Passover products in Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill
The new Harris Teeter in North Hills had the chocolate chips as of Saturday evening. They were located in the upper level on an end-cap display with the other kosher items.
They had a fair number of other items, but alas, no kosher Coke.
Taco Bell quality
One thing I've noticed recently is that the grilled chicken soft taco went from having all or mostly white meat, to a more finely chopped (to the point of mushiness) mostly dark meat mix. This seemed to coincide with its placement on the 99 cent menu.
Best of RDU
In terms of fine dining, I'd suggest Bonne Soiree in Chapel Hill, The Magnolia Grill in Durham, and Fins in Raleigh.
Lantern (in Chapel Hill) has received a lot of praise in the press, but I've never been satisfied with an entire meal. It's a great space, and it's well- run, but the entrees always seem boring. I would recommend going there for drinks and appetizers, though
Eastern NC cheese biscuits
Dunno. I've just never been that down with "country" cooking. Nothing wrong with it - just not something I'm into.
When I think of foods representative of Eastern NC, I think of barbeque, scalloped oysters, and those little biscuits with country ham.
Eastern NC cheese biscuits
Well, I'm not doubting you, but it's news to me. My family's lived in Beaufort and Pitt Counties since the colonial era, and I've never heard of them, much less tasted them.
Passover Coke in the Triangle
Does anyone know where, if anywhere, I could find Passover Coke in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area? I'd like to how the taste compares to Mexican Coke.
Eastern NC cheese biscuits
You're making this sound like a regional specialty, and I really don't think it is. Just as there are biscuits in many different regions, there are those who add cheese to the mix for something different.
Tomyam Rice Snacks at Trader Joe's --amazing flavor
I had both, and frankly liked the cashews much better. The flavor intensity is just out of this world.
I don't think the rice cracker adds anything other than crunch.
Looking for Great Pizza in Fuquay-Holly Springs-Apex
The Fuquay one. Maybe the toppings we chose were just especially greasy.
Looking for Great Pizza in Fuquay-Holly Springs-Apex
I'll be curious to see the responses. I've only had J&S take-out pizza (which really shouldn't make that much of a difference), and the crust has been consistently soggy.
