having just moved to the park, being food obsessed i immediately started my quest to find local establishments that i can claim as mine. Fresh Soft Taco is so good. its a chinese run mexican take out place, run by a lady at the register and a single cook. believe they might be a couple...this place uses high quality ingredients no joke. the steak is actually really real meat. the only complaint i'd have if i had one is the shredded jack cheese can be a bit greasy. but when one is enjoying this type of food its comforting. super cheap too. and delivery if u live in the area is the fastest ive ever seen like ten minutes.
oh and the tortillas are made before ur eyes.

the pizza place on baxter, Louie's, is seriously good. I've ate there almost everyday. the owner is so nice, he actually cares about what he's doing....and for the fact of the matter knows what he's doing!! check it out for sure. im sadly moving to woodhaven blvd(still elmhurst) by the mall so the proximity factor will suck but ill still eat there at least once a week. 1.50 regular slice! this place is excellent

yeah the portions are great there. the condo's ur talking about is 'puang prix.' in bangkok (my wife is from thailand), and all of thailand for that matter, 'pp' is like salt and pepper. i put the vinegar peppers on everything, try it on anything!

TRADE FAIR on 37 av around 76 or 78. veal bones/brains/ and other things. also decent selection of halal goat, lamb and what not. i dont eat veal, but i know they have it.

we share tastes! the beef tendon soup is awesome. i usually ask for them to skewer the tendon and place it on the the side, really puts the dish in perspective and makes for an awesome photo!

i stick to the tacos, the steamed tongue is spot on for me everytime. the carne asada is banging. the only tacos ive had there that i didnt like was the pastor and the tripe. too salty.

Afghan Kebab House in Astoria
excellent. the sambosa's are tasty! they have a special for 34, two salads, two appetizers and 2 kabob plates!!!! good service, decently close to the subway. basmati rice is excellent and the place exudes authenticity. the lamb was so tender, and it didnt need sauce. also the house made mint tea (iced for me) was stuffed with fresh mint, always a plus. the baklava is house made, and so so good. i am now a regular. good people. love it.
