Denver: Restaurants with a 'neighboorhood' feel
try Root Down in the Highlands (http://www.rootdowndenver.com/). It's in an older neighborhood, has a really nice atmosphere and killer food. We've been there several times and have yet to have a bad experience in either the bar or dining room. Did I say the food was killer because I meant it was awesome. The small plates are mostly well under $16 and do the trick especially one for yourself and one to share if you're sticking to that budget hard core. They also have really nice mixed drinks. Hope you find a place you really enjoy while you're in town.
