Wine in Madison, WI???

Hi all!

I'm looking for a store/aisle in Madison that has a funky, unique, and cheap-ish selection of wines. For all you venophiles out there, I'm thinking Louis/Dressner type wines. All suggestions welcome!!!

Thanks in advance for your help.

Three days in Little Rock.......

Hi fellow chowhounders!

Could use a little help.

I'm gonna be in Little Rock for a three day weekend. Whenever I travel, I try to hit up as many must-eat places as possible. My question is this......if I only visit Little Rock once in my life, where should I eat?

Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated! I'm not looking for any specific kind of cuisine, just places that make (and serve) great food.

cheers!

SE Michigan - Best Place for MEAT! Steaks, Pork Bellies and the rest!

Frozen USA shrimp in Detroit???????

Thanks for the recommendations!!!!!

Help! Need recs for dinner downtown Detroit this Sat. night

This is probably way to informal...but the pizza at Motor City Brewing Works is dynamite. Its only a 1/2 mile from the fox and the beer is awesome. Nice atmosphere too but can be a little smoky.

Frozen USA shrimp in Detroit???????

Anybody know where to buy frozen Gulf of Mexico shrimp in the Detroit area?

Informal poll [Moved from Midwest Board]

This is a question for all you Michigan hounds. Do you think our region needs a food show on the radio? Some public radio stations already air The Splendid Table but I'm talking about a MICHIGAN based show with MICHIGAN voices. If so, what would you like to hear on the show (i.e. reviews, commentary, call-in element)? And finally, if you do listen to The Splendid Table, what do you like and dislike about the show?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Cheers,

Looking for a bakery to buy fruitcake for Christmas in the Detroit area

I believe Avalon Bakery in Detroit sells fruitcake on a seasonal basis.

Best Prime Rib in Metro Detroit?

Any recomendations?????

Mucky Duck-Detroit

The Kroger in Grosse Pointe (in the Village) has it at the meat counter.

Madison, WI on the company dime?

If your going on the company dime, go to L'Etoile. You WONT be disappointed. For something a little less formal, try the Weary Traveler. Great beer selection and the Bad Breath Burger can't be beat.

Buddy's Pizza - Detroit?

Its the best pizza in Michigan. Some people may disagree, but I think it rivals anything in Chicago (i.e. Gino's etc...)....The original location is in a slightly sketchy neighborhood but the ambiance can't be beat. Try the one on Northwestern Highway.

Best Detroit area BBQ ribs?

If your on the east side, try Milt's Gourmet Bar-B-Que in Harper Woods. The quality has suffered a little bit since Milt was shot a while back but its still better than anything you can get at Slows.

Detroit: Michael Symon's "Roast" opening Oct 15th

I think its a great addition to Detroit's culinary scene. Great food and the service isn't bad either. Try the roasted bone marrow. Its dynamite.

Detroit - Black and White Cookies

Avalon Bakery (Cass Corridor) has them.

Breakfast between Jackson, MI & Chicago?

Food Dance Cafe in Kalamazoo. Its about an eight minute drive off the freeway but well worth it. It's along the main drag in downtown Kalamazoo. You wont be disappointed.

Best French Onion Soup in Metro Detroit?

Lucy's in Grosse Pointe Farms.
