Driving Boston to Narragansett, RI

We are doing a family vacation in Rhode Island mid-July and are driving from Boston-any go-to, must-not-miss places along the way? Any absolute favs in Charlestown or Narragansett?

Montreal Farmer's Markets?

I am headed for Montreal for the first time in June to attend a veterinary conference. I'm a SF foodie that loves to chow on local foodstuffs at foodstalls, farmer's markets or other similar food venues. I did a search but didn't find any thread along this line. Any suggestions?

Best Romantic Italian Restaurant

Acquerello was the first place that came to my mind also, just wanted to make sure there wasn't some groovy little sweet spot I hadn't heard of yet.

Help me impress my cousin from NY! - In North Bay

How far north are you thinking of traveling? I really like Hana Sushi in Santa Rosa if you are going that far north.

Best Romantic Italian Restaurant

So, I'm heading to SF for 5 days and it is our 15th anniversary so I'm looking for a sweet little spot. I'm thinking my chowhound peeps can help me out?

No Mi Casa: the real scoop on Cabo eating.

I've been going to Los Cabos annually for over a decade and am slightly embarassed to say that we almost always do the breakfast condo sales the first morning we arrive. The reason? To find out the new best places to eat in town. My favorite finds are: El Chilar (have run into Lance Armstrong here, twice); Hangman's-funky outdoor (one of my favorite Mexican style restaurants) with a variety of things hanging from the ceiling with amazing tacos at fifty cents apiece; Papagallo's also outdoors with great pastor (you can watch the guy carve it right in front of you-my teenaged nephew thought this place was "the bomb"; and lastly our first stop on our way in from the airport is ALWAYS Zipper's for a fish sandwich and a beer, looking out at the ocean, watching surfers. The food isn't gourmet level by any stretch of the imagination but Tony is a great guy and it was one of the first restaurants we discovered on our own over 10 years ago.

Where did Aspic go?

Tomato aspic. I don't know what it is about it but the mention of the food makes me quesy. Maybe it's the fact that it was my mother's "go-to dish" for holiday get-togethers. She was a great cook but took to floating a variety of things, some already mentioned, in her aspic-canned baby shrimp (still can see it in my nightmares),celery (served with tuna salad) and the best one was the one she brought to my father's family Christmas (all Italians) tomato aspic with calamari. Don't get me wrong I eat other things in aspic but, there's something about the memories of my mother's tomato aspic that keeps me from trying it again.

What do you eat raw that most people don't?

Me too! My grandparents owned a delicatessen when I was a kid and I loved to steal the uncooked raviolis-still do. Actually any dumpling will do. Never been a frozen french fry fiend though.

Dumpling Making Equipment

I've totally gotten into a dim sum making craze lately and have decided to upgrade some of my supplies. I'm heading to Chinatown tomorrow to do a little shopping and I'm looking for some recommendations. Anyone have a favorite wok? Steamer? Tea set ? Favorite shop? The Wok Shop on Grant has been suggested. Any info would be appreciated.

Mission Street Food

Ditto SFDude's remark. I'm salivating to check it out, but don't know if I have the patience for that kind of a wait. Will definitely keep it on my radar screen to check out future menus.
