Dinner suggestions near Florida Mall Orlando needed

Wow, you have a great many options on Restaurant Row a few miles west of Florida Mall that will fit the bill...A lot of chains though if you like that sort of thing. J Alexander's has a great happy hour menu and bar. I think you will like The Table's new creation Pharmacy as well from what my friends have told me....

Has anyone eaten at Teak Neighborhood Grill in Metrowest (Orlando)?

i enjoyed their burgers, and yup service is pretty slow/bad. its more of a pub than a gastro pub... go for the burgers!

Hey Mike! Enjoy your stay!

1) Dim sum
Check out Golden Lotus, they have dim sum till 4pm every day just a little north of the Ritz on John Young Parkway

2) Killer Mexican (I grew up in SoCal so I'm a Mexi food snob--a dirty taco stand is great as long as the food is really, really good)
- Border Grill on 5695 Vineland Rd Orlando, FL 32819
http://bordergrillorlando.weebly.com/...

3) Great steak (on the level of Mastro's or Peter Luger's
)A Land Remembered - Rosen Shingle Creek - Ribeye steak (Go to Restaurant.com for a gift certificate)
also try Christener's Del Frisco's steakhouse

4) Thai
Sea Thai (it's a bit further away though)

Good luck!!

Emeril Lagasse to debut new show "Emeril's Florida" on cooking channel

Celebrity Chef Emeril Lagasse announced plans today for a new Florida-based television show that will focus on cooking and travel, with the first episode in January slated to be about Orlando.

"Emeril Florida" will feature Lagasse exploring the dining and entertainment options of the Sunshine State. It is slated to air on the Cooking Network, Channel 180 on Bright House Networks.

"It's about what this great state offers,'' Lagasse said. "So it's not just about cooking, it's not just restaurants, although that's a nice chunk of it. But it's about the beaches, it's about fishing, it's about farming, it's about the agriculture.

"When people think about Florida, of course, they think about sunshine and how beautiful it is. They don't really know the variety, to the extent of what is really here. There's so much here it's incredible."

In Orlando, Lagasse visited places such as the Ravenous Pig, Vines, the Ice Bar and Cask & Larder.

Orlando - Convention Center Area?

Along I-Drive I'd recommend for lunch
1. Hanamizuki - Get their Shio Butter Ramen and a half order of fried rice
2. Sizler - Really good, and decently priced Indian place on I-drive
3. Aashirwad Indian - nice Indian buffet for lunch
4. Pao gostoso - local Brazillian bakery with pastries and some sandwich items for lunch
5. Trey Yuen - dim sum and authentic chinese food
6. Nile Ethiopian - If you like ethiopian cuisine, it's decent

Along Sand Lake Road
4. Nagoya - fresh sushi
5. Saffron - nice Indian place for lunch, nice digs

For dinner, if you have an expense account, or access to restaurant.com for the gift certificates,
A Land Remembered at the Rosen Shingle Creek has some of the best steaks I've had in Orlando (bone in ribeye) and Cala Bella in the same hotel has some nice mediterranean/Italian but both are pretty pricey

I like Arepas El Cacao, especially their beef arepa. They use a nice home made mild cheese from Venezuela.

Let us know how it goes!
