Best Italian (money no object) in L.A. area for a VERY picky eater

Pinpei, I am curious about the off the menu specials at Madeo??? Went there last night with my picky eater friend and did have a good dinner. Started with their special meatballs and had their Veal Milanese for the main course. Attentive service and good food:)

great pizza in west l.a - yes. it's true.

Try La Rocco’s Pizza in Culver City. The owner grew up in Brooklyn and it is really very decent for pizza in L.A.

The Best Sandwich in Los Angeles

A very decadent sandwich-roast turkey breast, stuffing and cranberry sauce on yummy bread at Tavern in Brentwood,

Downtown Seattle

I am from L.A, and I just spent 2 days in Seattle and really enjoyed Etta's and Serious Pie. At Etta's, the salmon served over the corn bread with asparagus was fabulous. I also enjoyed the clam chowder which was super creamy and very buttery. And although VERY expensive for pizza (at 18.00 per pizza for one person) loved Serious Pie. My husband thought the the KALE salad was one of the best he ever ate.

Pre-theater lunch near Segerstrom Center for the Arts (COSTA MESA)

Would love recommendations for a place to go for lunch pre-theater near Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa. Going with my mother and 16 year old daughter. Looking for a restaurant with a nice atmosphere and varied menu. I am not familiar with OC restaurants as I live on the Westside....Do any restaurants serve brunch type food on Saturdays? Anyone have a favorite place???

Bridal Shower Location

Lilly's Cafe in Venice has a lovely patio and is a perfect place for a bridal shower. It is not expensive and the food is good.

amazing lobster, chinese style

We love the House Lobster too and drive in from Santa Monice at least 1x a month. It does get very crowded but definitely worth the wait. We also order the French Beef and the clams with a spicy basil sauce. Soooo good. And the owners are lovely people who are always helpful.

Any restaurants in Los Angeles serve Ribollita?

Need help with pretty specific restaurant recommendation...

Locanda is great, not noisey and close to the Beverly Center. My parents love it too! Good suggestion from bad nono re Madeo-We love it too-

The Belvedere at the Penninsula is quiet and very grown up but may be to far for your parents. Also, the Grill on the Alley in BH has excellent food, a large menu, and is quiet.

California Science Center Area

Ended up going to Chichen Itza and was very pleased. We sampled a number of dishes and enjoyed them all!

Had Conchinita Pibil which I hadn't had since my trips years ago to Acumal in the Yucatán. It was very tastey. We also enjoyed the Papadzules which are Yucatecan-style enchiladas filled with creamy pumpkin seeds and some type of sauce filled with crumbled hard-boiled egg, and topped with a spicey salsa. The panuchos were also good . The corn tortillas were nice and crisp and were filled with black beans, lettuce, turkey, tomatoes, avocado and such!!! And how could one go wrong with grilled plantains!!

So true that there really is nothing in walking distance of the museum besides fast food like Chik-Fil-A, Chipotle, etc...

Anyway, thanks for the recommendation.

Are there any decent sit down restaurants within walking distance (or very short drive) of the Ca Science Center? Going with 8 people including adults and teens. Open to any type of food.

(I did a search and found very little).

Jury duty in Inglewood

Any recommendations re decent places to eat lunch near the Inglewood Superior Court???

Giorgio baldi

My husband and I love it too although it does get mixed reviews on this board. Ate there on Sunday night and had excellent service. Started with Penne Imperiale (with lagostino in a spicey red sauce) and then had veal picatta scalopine. My daughter started with the barrata and then had the lobster with tomatoes (very pricey but very good).

Restaurants at the new Santa Monica Place

Went to a pre-opening event which was held outside on the dining terrace at XINO on Thursday. Served huge shrimp dumplings, chicken/shrimp dumplings, mushroom dumplings and chicken on lettuce leaf. All were tastey and served in a beautiful setting overlooking the Promande. Inside, the restaurant is "crisp" and modern with clean lines. Looking forward to going back and ordering off the menu. Also, had a few "pretty" drinks which were very good as well.

Quiet restaurant on Westside

Love VALENTINO which is most definitely quiet. My mom and dad have been going there from the time it opened so looking for something else for her get together. Great suggestion though.

Quiet restaurant on Westside

Ortolan is a good suggestion. Thanks.
