Restaurants for dinner meeting - Midtown East

Thanks Elizabeth and RCC - I had earmarked FBF myself as a potential and it's nice to get confirmation, which is the whole reason for my post. Not all reviews note whether a venue is good enough for conversation which is the main point due to it being a business dinner. I appreciate it!

Thanks RGR - corrected. Trying to do too much too fast! Will forward the Indian idea. Cuisine isn't a major problem. I want to give my client a spread to choose from, maybe 4-5 different restaurants.

Restaurants for dinner meeting - Midtown East

Hi everyone. One of my clients will be meeting for dinner with a couple of business partners near the UN later this week. I moved away from the NYC area almost 2 years ago. Could someone please give me a few ideas on good places fairly close to the UN for them to eat? (Except Convivio).

Thanks!

Steak Frites

Anyone know where one can find real honest-to-goodness steak frites here in the DFW area? I mean the type of frites where they are skinny and double fried, crispy on the outside, soft warm goodness on the inside? Maybe with a NY strip steak and some garlic aioli on the side? I haven't found anything good since leaving the NYC area almost 3 years ago (and Pastis was my fave place there).

Thanks in advance!

Nice restaurant in Sugarland/Missouri City/Pearland

We are recent transplants to the Houston area and taking business associates out to dinner on Saturday night. We'd like to do steak or sushi or Italian...would like recommendations for good food as well as the restaurant being conducive for conversation. A good wine list would also help. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

New Year's Day Brunch - Buffet style preferred (HOU)

I'm new to the Houston area, having moved from the NYC metro area a couple of months ago. We have family in town and would like to take them to a nice buffet brunch for New Year's Day (I'm still unpacking!). Can anyone recommend a good location? Thanks!

New empanada spot in Jersey City

Good to know! Did this place have a name or is it still just a small mom-and-pop? My parents lived in Central America for a bit & my mom makes roasted plaintains. I'm curious as to the seasonings of these?

Best Mexican food in NYC

Silensespeak, I hear ya. Having lived 16 years in San Diego and almost 9 in Texas before moving here, I'm pining for some good MExican food, either SD style burritos and fish tacos or even Tex Mex at this point. THinking I'm going to have to just get on the internet, order up some good chorizo (which you can't find here), some fresh lard-made tortillas, and make it myself.
