Triangle Noodle Shops (Ramen, etc)

Thanks to all for great ideas. Some of the places I've been to but ordered other things. My son and I will make a list and spend winter slurping our way through!

Triangle Noodle Shops (Ramen, etc)

Hi- I'm wondering if we in the Triangle (Durham, CH pref but willing to travel) have any yummy noodle shops springing up? The break in the heat has me thinking about a steaming bowl full and I don't want the dried package from the store like I had in college! Thanks!

Need new Chapel Hill weekday lunch ideas

yes- love the blt's but not for this group (ambience). Took up Rory (above) on her note reminding me of courtyard seating since it turned out to be a nice day. Yummy and well-received. Thanks all!

Thanks to all Vimala's and Neal's are great ideas; seating may make them not work for this but yum!

I'm a fan too but it was ruled out by a member of the grp cuz she'd been so often recently. Poor her!

I'm hoping some of your great palates have scoped out something I haven't thought of. I enjoy sandwich, kitchen but need something else for a foodie - included lunch. Love Saxpahaw GS but too far for this time. Thoughts?

New York Style deli in Raleigh nc??

There's a new deli opening in the East 54 complex in Chapel Hill. I don't know when and I don't know how much of that NY deli menu it will include. Wanted to let people know to watch for it.

Tosca in Durham Closed

The menu looked great, the ambience inviting- it was the customer service that shredded stars off this restaurant. It was 2/3 full with pre-theater diners (Durham Perf Arts Center nearby with an 8pm perf). We arrived before our 6:15 reservation. Greeted well and seated, first courses brought. And then.... nothing. We peered at other tables - empty tabletops surrounded by people peering at everyone else's lack of food. It was 7:17 before we sought our waiter (disappeared) who told us "any minute... kitchen backed up." 5 minutes later my husband asked the hostess who said "I'm just the hostess I don't know anything." At 7:28, still hungry, with no extra bread brought, no check in from the waiter, no manager coming to offer us options that might be ready (soups, etc), we got up and approached the manager and the waiter together to say we were leaving. NO APOLOGY. They even tried to give us the check for 2 salads and 1 glass of wine. They then explained the chef had left early because he was sick. SO TELL US. Your restaurant is filled with people with theater tickets. We were ignored, lied to, no apology- worst customer service under pressure I've ever seen. All along the way, updates, offers to switch to less time-pressure entrees, would have made the difference in how we left feeling about the place.

Anything new in Durham?

I like food that has flavor- no need to be fancy- just vibrant. Been here about 2 years and feel like I've tried everything suggested. Wonder if a fellow chowhound might have some hidden gems? thanks!

Anything new in Durham?

Any place worth discovering that's new to Durham, NC? Thanks!

Innovative, not necessarily fancy food in the Triangle

I'm relatively new to Raleigh-area and find so much tastes the same and has the same menu. I'd like to find a few places that aren't all about chicken tenders for the kids. I wouldn't mind being able to take kids; I just don't want it to be all about that type of lowest-common- denominator menu. Suggestions? Thanks!
