Restaurants with a Chef's Table?

That doesnt really count as Chef's Table...
A chef's table is generally one that is INSIDE the kitchen...
The food is great at Joes on Abbott Kinney... and they might in fact have a chef's table...
Anybody else have any good suggestions?

melbourne, ft lauderdale - where to go

what about ft lauderdale?!

melbourne, ft lauderdale - where to go

I have a night in both melbourne and ft lauderdale.
I would love some suggestions of places to go for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, snacks, etc...
I am planning on going to Le Tub to try the infamous burger but is there anything else worth trying?
I am interested in nearly all cuisines and would try anything from a whole-in-the-wall to a fancy-sit-down restuarant...
please let me know of your suggestions!
thank you

Breakfast Spot in San Pedro? foodnetwork feature...

A while ago, I recall watching a spot on FoodNetwork... I forgot which show it was but they were profiling Breakfast restaurants around the country...
They did one place in San Pedro that I hadn't heard of... Unfortunately, I did not write down the name... hence the post... can somebody please help me?
I think the place is small... run by a husband and wife team... they have homemade salsa... huge portions... almost everything is homemade... I remember the chef showing how he made sausage and made bread...
Does this ring anybody's bells? thank you in advance!

21st Birthday Chow From UCLA to Bev Hills or Sta. Monica

Chaya is a wonderful idea. Esp considering there is one in Santa Moncia, and Beverly Hills [ADJACENT].
Italian: my two choices: Pizzicotto, Il Pastaio
Sushi: Chaya, maybe TENGU in SM [new, trendy, hip sushi, might be a tad more $],
Steak: The Palm, Dan Tana's both on SM BLVD, both very interesting scenes... could get $$$ with booze
Mexican is always a great 21! I suggest La Serenata [so close - on pico and westwood blvd!] and for a less food, more party atmosphere Spanish Kitchen on La Cienega.
there are a host of trendy restaurants to try too:
Ketchup on Sunset - trendy comfort/diner food
Republic on La Cienega
Simon in the hotel on La Cienega & Beverly...

Lastly, I think its really nice that you are surprising your daughter for her 21st. I hope you guys have a really FUN time.

Deep dish Chicago-style pizza in Los Angeles?

NOT DEEP DISH, but definitely Italian-Chicagoan pizza!
Al Gelato:
I must suggest Al Gelato on Robertson just south of Wilshire for their Pizza. Clare's family is Italian and from Chicago and they opened the restaurant/gelateria 20+ years ago.
Al Gelato's pizza is medium crust pizza, has a delicious tomato sauce and SOOO much cheese. Their pizza is incredibly delicious. Im salivating as Im typing this.

In search of the perfect Reuben...

i hope i dont get flamed for this... you know the VEGAN one at REAL FOOD DAILY is pretty amazing... and I am not a vegan...

Calendar's - Howard Hughes Center

I have to add that Calendars grill was not a fun experience for me a number of months ago either.
The service was awful, but that is excusable since they had just opened and were extremely busy.
The food was awful as well, which I find INexcusable being that it is Calendar's... The food was extremely oily and UN-flavorful...
One upside though, I do remember them having Stella Artois...

Road Trip to Monterey/Salinas from LA

Im going up for the race on Saturday Oct 21 and I like to eat. Help me out guys...

Any suggestions on places to go to on the way up from LA? We might just do IN N OUT, but maybe there is something more interesting or delicious? Let me know...

Also, which restaurants are recommended in Monterey? Im in search of hamburgers, Mexican food, Italian food, health food, macaroni and cheese, beer, fun cocktails... suggestions?

Thank you...
