Best L.A. area liquor prices?
Excellent wine prices can be had at Wine Expo in Santa Monica on Santa Monica Blvd. They always have great deals and it's run by great guys that really know their wine. Nothing pretentious about it, which I really like.

Costco has decent prices, but Smart and Final does not. Very consistently over-prices if you look. Also, they have stopped providing boxes for wine, so it's very hard to buy more than a couple bottles there. Very stupid move. Of course, I had to find that out with an entire cart full of wine that I gave up on because I couldn't get it to the car. The idiots there wanted to put each bottle in a separate plastic bag. I just walked out shaking my head and laughing at how silly that was.

Kida hard to beat metrokitchen.com for Global prices. Best I've ever seen. Even cooking.com has good prices. Certainly both of them beat the pants off of Surfas and Sur La Table.

Ramen in Santa Monica
The last time I ate at Ramenya, there was a bug in my soup and a bug in my drink. Yep, both. It was rather disgusting & I haven't been back. It was a bummer because I had heard so many good things about the place.

We ended up at the Broadway Deli. Food was agreeable and the service was excellent. Nobody believed that the Border Grill would be fast enough. Next time...

No it doesn't have to be deli food, I'd hope it wasn't. They just happen to be very accommodating.

We'll be on a tight schedule, but would like a nice lunch in the Santa Monica area. We may end up at the Broadway Deli, because they'll hold the table and do a nice job. Any other ideas? This is a weekday business lunch and we'll be in somewhat of a hurry.
