Well the only real tradition my family ever had growing up was the fact that some how, no matter what, we always ate dinner during Wheel of Fortune :)

What is your favorite "ethnic" food to make?
Hummus is really the only 'real' ethnic food other than some German/Austrian/Hungarian food that my grandmother used to make.
Good Appetizers for College Kids?
Several of my friends and I (around 6 total) are starting up a discussion group, talking about all the fun stuff like politics, religion and sex.
I was hoping to make a bunch of appetizers for the group, nothing necessarily themed or around a specific country, just some simple dishes that people can munch on, but aren't just a bag of chips or stereotypical college food like pizza bits or something like that. I want something a little more complex.
So I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I don't have any real specific requests for types of recipes besides nothing too greasy or stereotypically college, and preferably simple and easy to make. Again, any suggestions would be great, I'm kind of supposed to be in charge of coming up with ideas for the food, as well as doing a lot of the cooking.
