NYer looking for Sunday bday dinner in Barcelona

I'm travelling from manhattan to barcelona for my bday and am looking for a unique barcelona eating experience. Only problem is that my bday dinner will be on a sunday night and i've come to realize that most of the places i'm interested in (comerc 24, alkimia, cinc sentits) are closed on sunday nights. Does anyone know of a great (non-touristy) barcelona restaurant that is open on sundays. Definitely no italian, french, or anything we can find in nyc. Thanks!

NYC C'hounders need anniversary dinner restaurant in granada

My husband and i are spending 10 days travelling through Andalusia and Barcelona next month to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. We'll be in granada for the day of our actual anniversary and would like suggestions on a great restaurant for that night. We're trying to avoid any tourist traps and would really just want an amazing food experience. Thanks!

NYC hound looking for best baklava in israel

I live in NYC and will be visiting Israel for the first time. I know there are many wonderful foods to discover in Israel, but i am obsessed with finding one thing: the best baklava! I'm completely obsessed with baklava even though i'm hispanic and have no obvious reasons for loving baklava...but i do. In any case, i'm visiting Israel with my inlaws and the one thing i want is for some locals to suggest places to enjoy amazing baklava. I'll be in jerusalem and tel aviv, so i would love suggestions in either city. Thanks!!

NYC C'Hound ISO Decadent Sunday Brunch

Manhattan c'hounder in town for mother's day...i really want to treat my mom to a great brunch on sunday and would love local suggestions. Any area of DC is okay, but if you need specifics i would say downtown, dupont circle, georgetown, or u street corridor. My mom is young and not at all stuffy so a fun and hip location would be a plus. So far i've heard about: Brasserie Beck, Farenheit (at the ritz), Tabard Inn, and Cashion's Eat Place. What do you guys think? Thanks!

Need suggestion for biz lunch: adventurous c'hounders

Corton, yes...typo. I've been to aquavit, alto, and eleven madison park. All great suggestions, but i'm really looking for something different and new, if possible.

Need suggestion for biz lunch: adventurous c'hounders

Midtown would be best, but we're willing to travel for a great meal. I'm really looking for something new and different...not the usual business lunch scene.

Need suggestion for biz lunch: adventurous c'hounders

I need a suggestion for a business lunch. We're both self-described foodies, but i need to impress my boss who can fall prey to trendy nyc restaurants. Her recent favorites have been Dovetail, Anthos, and Elettaria. I wanted to take her to Croton or Scarpetta, but neither serve lunch. Any suggestions? Thanks!

NYC 'hounder needs SF dinner rec, not Slanted Door

My husband and i are going to SF (from manhattan) for a wedding. Sadly we only have time for one dinner in the city and would love to enjoy something memorable that we can't find in nyc. Last time we visited SF we went to Slanted Door and Ame and loved both, but being that we're both adventurous about our food we wanted to try something new. So far i have my eye on Range, Delfina, and Canteen...but would love to hear of other/better/different options suggested by local chowhounders. Neighborhood is not an issue as long as it's in the city.

Thanks!

NYC C'hound in Columbia SC Needs Suggestions

Going to Columbia, SC for work and will need a few good dinner suggestions. Money is not an issue so we're down for anything that's good. I saw the postings regarding BBQ spots in the area, so i think that's covered...guess i'm looking for other great/local restaurants that are worth trying. Thanks!

NYC C'hounder group dinner during jazz fest

I'm headed to one of my favorite foodie cities for jazz fest and am looking for some ideas on where to do one large group dinner (12+ people?) and one dinner for 6-8 people. I realize it's hard to get a table for a large group, especially during jazz fest, but was wondering if there are any new options that i should check out. Some favorites i was considering are Lemeac and L'express because one of the dinners will be taking place after 11pm. Another option i considered for the group of 6 people was Pied du Cochon. I've been to both Lemeac and L'express and have heard mixed reviews of Pied du Cochon....so basically i'll defer to local experts for better/different suggestions. Thanks!

NYC C'hounder Visits Cannon Beach, OR

I'm coming in from Manhattan for a friend's wedding in Cannon Beach and was looking for some reliable c'hounder suggestions. What i'm looking for are two great places for brunch (nothing fancy, just good food & fun atmosphere), one lunch spot (local food), and some good bars (if they serve food even better!) in the area. The wedding is at the Surf and Sand Hotel, so we'll be in that area mostly. Any good suggestions are welcome.

Little Owl menu suggestions

So i'm heading to little owl for the first time next week and was wondering (since it's gotten mixed reviews here) if there's a stand-out item on the menu. Anything i should def try or def stay away from?

NYC c'hounder for dinner in Charlotte

So i think i made my decision and i'm going with Ratcliffe on the Green (unless one of you stops me). Carpe Diem is my back-up plan b/c of the ambience, but the menu at Ratcliffe sounds too good to turn down.

Milos or Molyvos??

Definitely Milos. Fresh ingredients and doesn't have the touristy feel of Molyvos.

NYC c'hounder for dinner in Charlotte

All great suggestions...i think i'm leaning towards Ratcliffe b/c the menu looks great or Carpe Diem (good ambience and solid menu). Now i just have to decide between the two. Thanks!

NYC c'hounder for dinner in Charlotte

I know it's hard to surpass or replicate NYC and that's not what I'm aiming for...i just thought it would be nice to have dinner at a good local restaurant that focuses on local ingredients and flavors. Thanks for the suggestions!!

NYC c'hounder for dinner in Charlotte

Manhattan chowhounder in Charlotte for business looking for a top restaurant for a decadent dinner. My guidelines are simple: nothing i can easily find in new york city. So i'd like to go somewhere with excellent seafood and local flavors. So far i've heard of Carpe Diem, Upstream, Bonterra Dining & Wine, and Barrington's. I'll be dining on my own and money is not really an issue but i also don't want to be stuck somewhere stuffy. If one of these restaurant rocks let me know, but if i'm totally off target and should focus on someplace different please tell me!! Thanks!

NYC chowhounder having b'fast & lunch in chicago

So i need some help from my chicago chowhounders. I'm spending Saturday and Sunday in Chicago and would love some ideas for breakfast and lunch spots. Ideally your suggestions would include places we just can't find in new york, but basically i'm just looking for great local food.

Thanks!

NYC c'hounder w/ 48 hrs in Seattle

So i'm headed to Seattle for the first time and only have 48 hours to eat the best the city has to offer. Here's the breakdown: i have 2 breakfasts; 2 lunches; and MAYBE 1 dinner. Not so great, but it'll have to do. I'm looking for a food experience that i can't find in manhattan, so pacific northwest cuisine (including good coffee shops) at it's best. If anyone can at least suggest two solid lunch spots (or dinner spots that offer lunch) i would greatly appreciate it!

Definitely go with Shimizu...although Sushi of Gari recently opened on 46th and 8th.

Saturday lunch @ Jackson Heights [moved from Manhattan board]

I'm going to Jackson Heights on Saturday to buy clothes for an Indian wedding and am looking for an authentic/delicious Indian lunch spot. Of course, everyone knows Jackson Diner but i'm curious if (a) it lives up to the hype, or (b) there's something better out there. If anyone has insight either way let me know.

NYC Chowhounders on 3 day visit to SF

Me and my chowhounding boyfriend are going to spend three days in SF. We're both extremely adventurous about our food and love to eat well. I've been to SF but he hasn't, so i definitely want to impress during a short amount of time. I basically need the following:
best burrito spot in SF (and there's no time to drive outside the city!), best new asian-fusion spot for dinner, good place for lunch near golden gate park or upper haight, dinner/lunch in the mission, best sushi that won't break the bank.

Thanks!

Becco or Marseille's for pre-theater dinner?

Please do not go to beccos!! I've been to both more than once and i can safely say that Marseille is the better choice.
