Telegraph Ave just south of 51st (temescal area) is a great area.There's Burma Superstar,Pyung Chang Tofu House(I crave their tofu soup),Pizzaiolo,Bakesale Betty's (daytime only) and Dona Thomas.I am not a fan of Lanesplitter's Pizza but many people like it and it's super kid friendly.On College the burgers at Crepevine and Barclays are kid friendly and quite good,love Wood Tavern and Southie's.We still enjoy the thai garlic noodles at Nan Yang along with a couple other dishes.We do enjoy Bellanico(on Park Blvd) too.We've lived in Montclair since 1978 and I have to say it's basically a black hole for dining.That said,the ceviche at the Taqueria is quite good.
One thing I forgot...the little Indian take out place on Moraga (with the little parking lot near the awful chinese place)is pretty good too.You can eat there but it's quite small.

Oh we are not going there again after today but yes,we were told it's under new management.Our usual $45 bill was $63 for less than mediocre food.

We normally eat Dim Sum here but went today (after it being closed for a short while) and the dim sum was terrible!Anyone know if the old owners opened another restaurant and if so, where?

We have been sick so I don't have the energy to cook.There are only 3 of us.Has anyone ever tried one of these? I don't want to waste $ on something inedible.

The only food that I have ever found too stinky to eat was a type of Austrian local cheese.It smelled like vomit! Now I want to try Stinky Tofu.Would I be wasting my money?

Khana Peena has a beautiful outdoor space but the food is not good.I know it's pedestrian but for me there is no better dish than the chicken tikka masala at Kabana.The naan and the tandoori are also top notch as is most of the other food.I always order the saag but lamb curry and seekh kabob are also yummy.This is the STUFF for me,not tailored for american palates.I also enjoy Viks too but Kabana is the place!
