Heading to Mystic CT(staying in Groton) with 2 kids
We just had lunch at the Oyster Club with our 4 year old son Saturday. He has a pretty good palate and had the soup and an oyster and they made him a grilled cheese. The food is fantastic but limited so if your children are not adventurous I would go elsewhere. Azu and Go Fish are great choices.

I agree, the prices have gone up. The food is good but now that the prices have gone up I would like to see maybe some sanwiches at dinner to give more variety.
Speaking of Sturbridge has anyone done this dinner in Old Sturbridge Village?
I went about 3 weeks ago and had lunch. The food was not very good and the dishes were dirty. Seeing that there has been a change in chef's I can see why.

Thank you for posting this. I as well have enjoyed many Saturday's with Rick helping us find the perfect wine to take to dinner at Perfect Party's now Elizabeths. It was Rick who truly introduced to me to wine and created my palate. I will miss him but treasure the great moments through the years.

I have been for lunch during the Holidays when we are shopping. The burger has always been good and my husband did like the eggs benedict. In the warmer months they have outside seating and is very nice. I would give it a try you cannot go wrong with the deal.

Picked up dinner last night. We had the steak , meatballs and pasta. It was all fanatastic and the portions are large. We have enough for another dinner. I will be back!
Wine Fest
It was horrible. Crowded and the reps could care less. The tickets were free so the hour we spent there did not seem like a complete waste of money.
Bar American was fantastic. Bobby was in the kitchen. It was crowded but service did not suffer.

Has anyone been or planning on going to the Sun Wine Fest this weekend? I have tickets and not sure if it is worth it. Also any reviews on Bar American?

I suggest Carmine's also and you may want to check out Antonios Restaurant in Woodbridge. The only issue with Lena's is that is may be very crowded with the brunch crown that gathers there on Sunday. Delaney's across the street does have a nice lareg dining room.

The mac and cheese had about a pound of lobster in it.
Rained two days and the rest of the week 80 and sunny. Cam home with a nice tan.
I wish I was there right now.

We had dinner there on 7/5 with a one and 1/2 year old. We sat upstairs in front of the window and it was wonderful. My husband has the lobster mac and cheese and I had the cod on the cedar plank. Our son was greeted right away with a big bowl of fries and thought they were the best ever!! It was a great night!
On another note: Here is a mini trip report on where we ate last week.
Stopped at Fox's Lobster for a lobster roll and then on to Browns for ice cream. Best ice cream all week.
Monday we went to Cafe Preggo for dinner and we keep saying it may be the best meal we had all week. We split the lobster pizza and was worth the $21.00.
Two lunches at Barnacle Billys , both were good. Monday we had steamers and Wednesday it was raining so we went to BB etc and sat by the windows and enjoyed a very good lobster. Had great service that day.
Tuesday we headed to Kennebunkport and stopped for clams at the clam shack and a late lunch at Mabel's. My husband had the mussels and I had a lobster roll. Love the cole slaw. The three of us enjoyed the blueberry pie while watching the rain come down.
Wednesday we had dinner at out hotel the Anchorage by the Sea. It was raining and they have a tented restaurant by the pool with live entertainment. It was good.
Thursday we had dinner at Five O, I will just say that it was ok. Would not return
Friday dinner. We wanted lobster and wanted to sit outside by the water and decided to try Jackie Two's. Again it was ok, lobster was very watery.

thank you for all the suggestions. I know I can always count on chowhound. We are still on the fence about MC Perkins. I think they only reason we are still thinking about is the view.

I Mc perkins besides Arrows the best these days? We are planning to have a much needed nice sit down meal on Sunday night.
We are also heading into Kennebunkport on Monday and will stop at that the clam shack. Any other suggestions?

We are heading to Ogunquit in two weeks along with our 1 year old. Can you offer any suggestions on the best places for lobster and what not to miss in Ogunquit? We are there for 3 night and do not mind driving / taking a day trip. We were hoping to have a nice meal on Sunday night and looked at Mc Perkins. Any thoughts?

I read your report and that is what I was afraid of with UL. I happened to look on Open Table this morning and Bespoke had an oppening for Friday night. It was just luck.
