If you're downtown, try the over-the-top brunch at Grill 225 or Sermets for a more low key affair. If in Mt. Pleasant, try the Red Drum Gastropub for a casual but delicious brunch with bottomless mimosas and bellinis! West Ashley...try Triangle char and bar!

pubs with good 'on tap' beer selections in charleston?
Try the Red Drum Gastropub in Mount Pleasant, just 5 minutes east of Daniel Island. Great pub with 12 or so beers on tap, excellent SW bar menu plus a great sit-down if so inclined. The bar kicks after 10 on Wed./Thurs. nights, with live music and a lovely crowd.
Loring Wine Company
Have just tasted the '07s from Loring and they tastes remarkably similar...I agree that he is producing good stuff but everything comes out a bit heavy-handed for my taste. Seems to be holding his own in the marketplace, though.

I would definitely recommend Trattoria Lucca for an unforgettable, family-style Italian meal (supper)...short walk from MUSC toward hwy 17-N (the crosstown).

For a true taste of VA BBQ try King's in Petersburg, about 2 mi. west of I-95 on Crater Rd.
Between Columbia and Charleston try Duke's #1 in Orangeburg, off I-26 by several miles...ENJOY!
ISO Upscale great restaurants in Charleston
I have to echo these warnings...I am not a big fan of the food at McCrady's anymore...they've lost their "soul" and have strayed pretty far from a local feel...you won't find many natives there at night. Do still love the bar, though, and the restaurant is one of the most ensearing spaces in Charleston.
