In search of one special meal

We had a great meal at La Fontaine Gaillon. It was one of our favorite meals in Paris. The terrace was open, so we have a very romantic meal outside. Thanks for the suggestion!!

Altitude 95 , Eiffel Tower

I made my reservations for April yesterday, so they are currently booking for 58 Tour Eiffel.

Pizzeria Pepone?

I have read that this is a great place to get some Italian cuisine in Paris. Has anyone eaten here or heard of it? It is located at 3 rue Grégoire de Tours, 6e. I am looking for a place to keep in mind if we get tired of gourmet French during our stay.

Whining about wine!

I am sure they taste differently as well. When we were in Northern Ireland a few years ago, he was amazed that Guinness tasted so much better there than in the States. I think beer is the way to go for him for sure. The wine will be for me.
Thanks for the info!!

Whining about wine!

My husband does like beer and drinks Duval on occasion. How are the prices for beer compared with wine?

Whining about wine!

I am not a wine drinker, and neither is my husband. Now that I have some great suggestions for where to eat, I would love to know what to drink. We can always have water, I know, but you know what they say . . . "when in Rome". In this case, Paris seems to be all about the wine. My wine tastes are more of the dessert wine variety. I like wine that is very sweet. Will I be drinking water the whole time or is there a wine out there that will go with dinner? Will a sommelier snicker at my requests?? Should we just stick to un carafe d'eau?

Both of these places look great! And they are really close to the Westin where we are staying. Will definately eat at at least one! Thanks!!

In search of one special meal

My husband and I will be visiting Paris for our 10 year anniversary in April. We are looking for a restaurant with memorable food and would like to stay under 200euros. I am beginning to think this an impossibility! Our hotel is near the Louvre and would like to have something semi-close. I am open to all suggestions from Bistros to Brasseries to fine dining. In all of my searches, I find restaurants with good ratings but poor reviews from regular people and really want one special dinner. Any suggestions??
