Looking for some help in Moose Jaw Sask

I had the fish & chips at Bobbys & it was really good, the shepherds pie on the other hand...not so much.
Great little pub, have even been on a few nights where they have live music :)

La Poutine - Opening Soon in Edmonton

Thanks for the reply! He doesnt have his reciept anymore but I will be sure to pass along the info and apology.

La Poutine - Opening Soon in Edmonton

A guy from work went here today for lunch and couldn't believe how expensive it was. They charged him for his Canadian Poutine ($9.95) which he was fine with but then they also charged him $4.95 to take it to go.
Anyone know why they charge to take the poutines to go?

He says it was pretty tasty and there was only a couple people ahead of him in line so he was in and out fairly quickly.

5 Guys Burgers in Sherwood Park

I went on Saturday and it was really, really good!
Went around 130 and the line up was huge and just kept growing! It didnt take long to get through it which was nice. I had a baby cheeseburger with everything and shared a regular fries with a friend. I was super impressed by the burger, juicy and flavourful! I had no issues with my burger falling apart like I have read on other threads either, maybe this happens more often with the 2 patty burgers? The fries were very very good, but really nothing compares to fresh cut fries.
My only issue was that some of the customers were inconsiderate and leaving all of their garbage on the tables when they left and there was no one going around cleaning the tables (probably because it was so busy in the kitchen area). Not a big deal in the long run though.
I would absolutely go there again!

In search of Foie Gras in Edmonton?

I know the Buffalo Valley Meats in Whitemud Crossing has had it in the past. Might be worth a phone call - (780) 438-9202

Dish and Spoon secret garden - Edmonton

Have been a few times and have always found it good. Sat on the secret garden patio last summer and it was ok - we ended up with a table right by the kitchen door and over looking the ally below. I think if you stick to the brick wall side it would be a much nicer ambiance and would be more "garden" atmosphere!
The Fork Fest deal there is usually one of the best bang for your buck of all the restaurants involved.

top five places to eat near whyte ave (edmonton)

Rumour has it that Pad Thai is being torn down some time this summer to make wasy for a new condo :( I hope the owners relocate!

Favourite things to buy at the Italian Centre EDM

I totally agree...I always walk out of that place with way more than I need!!

- Breads/Buns....so many fresh and delicious ones to choose from!
- Roma Tomatoes....they always look so good there!
- Great Mistake Olives
- Fresh Buffalo Mozzarella
- Salami (usually a few different kinds)
- Always a Portugese Tart for the drive home :)

Rare 120 @ Hard Rock Hotel

Bumping this up.....would love to hear any reviews :)

Which is the better of the restaurants at the Delta hotels in Edmonton ?

Dunns is in the Delta South and Daltons is across the street in the Greenwood Inn.

Never been to Dunns personally so I cant comment on the food. I have been to both Deltas for work functions and the food was good but cant comment on any of the restos - sorry.

Las Vegas for chef and wife on a budget?

Shamu613 -
Do you know if they allow these Prix Fixe Menus for groups? Im looking at 10 to 12 people?
Thanks!

Skinny Legs & Cowgirls - new location

Thanks Cleo!
How was the timing of the meal. I know when I have gone for dinner it has made to be a very long evening (which for dinner is fine) but usually when I go for brunch I have other places to be afterwards and am not looking for a 2.5 to 3 hour brunch. I am hoping that brunch service is swifter!

Skinny Legs & Cowgirls - new location

I was wondering about their brunch a few weeks ago, if you get the time would you mind posting a review?
Thanks!

Whistler / Blackomb Breakfast

I will second that one! Thier Kubasa style sausage is definitly my favorite part of the meal!

Sad news for Edmonton culinary community

I love that store! Even if I wasnt in the market for a new gadget I could walk around it for hours dreaming of what I would splurge on another day :(

Any chance of a relocation outside of the mall?

Dan G - Sad to say but that was one of my first thoughts as well...

Fork Fest - Edmonton Chowhounds

Went to The Dish last summer during the Fork Fest event. The selection is really good for mains and desserts from what I can remember. I had soup (sorry cant remember what kind), Clam Linguine and dessert (cant remember that either). I remember really really enjoying the soup, the pasta was good and a very large portion from what I can remember. Since it was summer we sat on thier hidden patio and it was really nice and private in there. I was definatly thinking of returning for a meal during FF this year.

I was very surprised in the price jump for this edition of FF. I was hoping for a couple nice dinners at the higher end restaurants but may have to rethink that a bit.

In home catering - Edmonton

My company is looking at getting our bosses a gift cert. for an In Home Catering.
They are looking for a high end, multi course meal for 6-10 people. As I have little experience with hiring out my cooking I was hoping that others would have some recommendations or experience with this subject.

Thanks in advance!

Sushi Dinner (Las Vegas)

This is a great start for what I am looking for - Thank you so much!

Any other suggestions woud be greatly appreciated!

CrossIron Mills Mall, Calgary... food

Its the same up in Edmonton with the broccoli. I ordered the platter with the steak and chicken on it (to share- it was huge!!) and the broccoli was in the steam table so I had assumed it was hot. Not the case at all. I was a little disappointed since I think it would have been much better served hot. I had also chosen the noodles and cabbage for a side dish and thought that was the best side of the 4 on my plate. Next time I would get double noodles and cabbage and no broccoli. I thought the potatoes were ok but nothing special or something that I had to have.

Sushi Dinner (Las Vegas)

That looks like something we could work with! Thanks!
What are the prices like? Are they fairly reasonalbe??
Would they be busy on a weeknight or would it be fairly easy to get a reso for a larger party on a few days notice??

How far away from the strip is this? (Just so I could tell people what to expect when they cab or drive there)

Thanks again!

Sushi Dinner (Las Vegas)

Hi there,
I know this topic has probably been covered before but I wasnt able to find a list for a group.

I am planning a sushi dinner for my wedding for about 10-12 people and was looking for suggestions of where to go. I am definatly open to on or off the strip. It doesnt have to be fancy or anything like that but quality is definatly a factor.
Any suggestions would be fantastic!
Thanks in advance!

Anthony Bourdain

Got them yesterday! So excited!
Now to make a reso in the area for some pre Bourdain eats!

Anthony Bourdain

Has anyone recieved their tickets in the mail yet?
I have never ordered from Epcor Center before so I wasnt sure if this was like ticketmaster where they just mail it to you when its convenient for them or if they sent them when you ordered them. Since I had some of the trouble that others had online I just wanted to check.

Anthony Bourdain

Got my tickets this morning and as far as I can tell I think this may be his only Canadian stop!

Where to buy Black Garlic?

I saw it at the Italian Center South last week in Edmonton. Sorry didnt think to look at the price :(

Edmonton restaurant review of the month - October (Karmel)

I think this is a great idea and cant wait to read/participate in it!

Caribbean Restaurant - Edmonton

Would anyone know of an authentic Caribbean restaurant in Edmonton. Apparently there used to be a great one a few years ago but I think its shut down now :(
Thanks!

Wine bar/lounge in Edmonton?

There is also Hundred - just across from Sherlocks down town. They have a huge wine list and a bonus for the summer time is that a bunch of the bottles are on for half price until the last day of summer! Might be worth making a reso if you are going on a Friday or Saturday night though.

Looking for a locally sourced caterer in Edmonton

Culina does catering and I know they try their best to use local for their restaurants - I dont see why they would do anything different for thier catering.
Might be worth a call!
