I have seen packages of a mozzarella cheese rolled with prosciutto which I have always been curious about. The cheese and meat quality seemed a bit dodgy , so I have always passed on them. Then today at Bay Cities I saw the BelGioioso Unwrap & Roll Fresh Mozzarella which meant I could buy yummy prosciutto de parma and heirloom tomatoes and make my own rolls! I thought the mozzarella was hard to roll since it was a bit too thick and stiff , and even worse, the mozzarella wasn't great tasting . Does anyone know where to get better mozzarella in sheets or how to make my own sheets? thank you in advance! |

86 year old father needs bland food in NO. Is it possible? a giant THANK YOU to all for your generous relies. My father loved the WW2 museum and it's food. He was bold in asking different restaurants for his special needs which they all gladly carried out. He had an amazing vacation. And no upset stomach. yay! New Orleans is truly magical. Can't wait to get back there myself. |

I am looking for poultry gizzards sold by the pound. I have checked my local whole foods and safeway , but they don't carry it. I have read on the boards that some people in other cities have found it in the butcher section or frozen but I haven't seen it in my local stores. Thank you in advance for any suggestions. |

86 year old father needs bland food in NO. Is it possible? I will advise my father that he will need to give chefs maybe a day in advance at least for special bland meal requests. Their hotel concierge probably can help. I will report back after his trip. thank you everyone for you comments. |

86 year old father needs bland food in NO. Is it possible? Hello all. IT seems that fried chicken is quite popular as alternative for those needing special meals. I asked my father and he says deep fried chicken is too rich for him and also upsets his stomach. Turns out , we are really talking BLAND! broiled chicken and overcooked veggies and rice. yuch. |

Diamond Bakery on Fairfax. The Potato knish is small and packed with flavor. Surpirsed they don't get more attention for the best knish in town. Creamy and peppery. |

Thank you for reminding me that asking for a special meal is possible. and there is always Popeye's chix. so funny! |

86 year old father needs bland food in NO. Is it possible? Hello Texasredtop. That is a good suggestion. they can enjoy the ambience while still eating food that won't upset their stomach. The only thing is that 7 days eating 3 meals a day at these fancy places will break the bank. it would be nice to have a couple casual places to go for an easy meal as well. so if you can think of anything else............. |

Does anyone know the name of the Korean BBQ practice of cross hatch cutting meat? My nephew told me when he was in Korea last year the best BBQ meat he had was a cross hatched and then grilled cut ( scored kind of like a mango!). He couldn't remember what that style of meat preparation was called. And while I have your attention, any suggestions for a restaurant in K-town who offers this style of BBQ would be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance! |

Looking for fresh Bakkwa, ie Malyasian or Chinese Jerkey I have scoured the posts and I see some posts about who sells Bakkwa in LA but I only see it packaged, not fresh off the grill or under the warming lights. I like my Bakkwa warm and fresh. Any suggestions would be great. thank you |
