Blood Sausage / Black Pudding in Toronto?

If you are looking for the Scottish version, you can try the But 'n' Ben Bakery and Butcher in Scarborough. I think it is on Ellesmere Road. Here is their website

I get mine there and quite like it.
Enjoy

Where can I find Conch Fritters in Toronto?

My DH and I are huge fans of the Keys and go at least twice a year where I think we eat our weight in conch fritters and cold Rolling Rock. I am throwing him a huge birthday party next week and would love to get some as a surprise. Where would I begin to look here in Toronto? Preferably within the TTC access as I don't have a car.
Thanks so much.

Need to pick a restaurant for dinner with husbands boss.

Thank you all so much for your advice. We actually made a reservation for Splendido. Grilled Cheese, Love your rec for Opus but we were there 2 years ago for this dinner. We do it every year with the same people. So we try to choose a different restaurant every year. We had a great dinner there, awsome lamb combined with the Dead Arm Shiraz. I will post a report after.
Thanks again everyone.

Need to pick a restaurant for dinner with husbands boss.

I think he is defining wow factor as that the restauant has to have amazing food, great service, fantastic wine and also look good. The dinner isn't so much a business dinner as it is a thank you for your business dinner.

Need to pick a restaurant for dinner with husbands boss.

Okay, husband and I are going to dinner with his boss and some other important type people. Husbands boss has asked that we pick a restaurant, all he wants is the wow factor combined with good food. He said he was interested in Lucien, Colborne Lane and L’Unita. I also suggested either Splendido or Scaramouche.

So where do we go or at least try to make a reservation. It's for 2 weeks from now. Any suggestions? help? advice?

Kid Friendly in Victoria

Hi again. Thank you for you posts. We had brunch at Uncle Willys and loved it. Even my very picky 7 year old. Also the husband and I went to Point-no-Point for a romantic dinner and it was fabulous. Had an amazing time and a wonderful heirloom tomato salad. We are hopefully going to try the tapas bar on Thursday. Thanks again.

Kid Friendly in Victoria

Hi All. I am in Victoria for 2 weeks visiting the in-laws and am looking for kid friendly restaurants that do not serve fast food. I am a chef who is currently on mat leave, so I am looking forward to having some great meals while I am here. I love eating locally and cooking with local food. We have a 1 year old and a 7 year old with us. I am also wondering about where I could go with my husband an a "date night" while the in-laws have the kids. Some place fun and fabulous where we can forget about the kids!
Thanks so much.
