I have a venison hip roast, should I marinate it, treat it like pot roast? or slow roast?
I would slow cook it! I also would use either red wine or a stout lager, it will remove the "gamieness". Then just season it as you would any beef roast. It should turn out wonderfully!
what to do with......
I make home made onion rings. I season the buttermilk and soak the onion rings in the mixture. Most of it is leftover. Does any one know how it can be kept? could it be frozen? I hate the idea of wasting it.....

bread bowl recipe
I am looking for a recipe for a bread bowl. I have a recipe to fill it with but I want a recipe from scratch for the bowl. Every recipe I have found is the soup or sauce and says to use a frozen dough. I would like to make it but most of my bread recipes are soft breads. If there is something I need to change about the recipes I already use, that is what I am unsure of.
Tulsa: D'Novo or LXI? other recs?
Camille's is a locally owned chain for coffee and light lunch menu items. I am not sure which one would be closest to you. There are some good places on Peoria between 21st and 51st . Nice dinner will be close to you on Yale at either Charleston's or Mahogany. I have heard good things about D'Novo but I haven't been there. I think that the Doubletree has brunch you might check into that.
Broken Sauce
I make alfredo sauce from scratch. The recipe I use calls for 6tbsp. butter, 1cup cream or half and half, 1cup parmesan cheese. I hadn't made this in a while, but I have made it twice in the last month both times it broke. I did it he first time from memory and the last following the recipe with one exception I used a blend of four cheeses because I was out of parm. I don't know what I am doing wrong it was like thinned ricotta. I would love some ideas because all the times before it was perfect. I don't know what the difference is.
how big is your weekly food bill
There are 6 of us in my house and I ocassionally cook for my mother. We have 4 kids and buy more prepared food that I would like. We spend $500 to $700 a month depending on sale items, coupons and special events. probally 1/3 of that is prepared food that is including jelly, frozen pizza, and bread.
Mom's, Do You Feel Different, When You Are Cooking For the Kids?
I believe it is love of these precious little gifts that makes a difference. I love cooking, but cooking for my 4 little ones is more satisfying and fulfilling. than for even my husband. It is a feeling that you just don't get when cooking for other loved ones. No matter how old they are they are your babies.
Chocolate frosting recipe?
I believe it is. It is on the back of the box and that sounds right.
frustrated non-chef needs help
I don't know if you have tried it or not but the simplest recipes I have seen are by Alton Brown of the food network. His books are illustrated and every step is detailed. Most of his recipes are healthy. I hope you find something that works for you. Good luck
Chocolate frosting recipe?
There is a great recipe on the back of the box of Hershey's dark unsweetened cocoa powder. It is on the dutched too, I'm sure but the dark is my family's favorite. It is kind of a ganache but you can lighten it with some whipping cream.
Messiest Food to Cook
The messiest things I make are breads. I always have the measuring cups, mixing bowls, pans it bakes in, rolling pin, towels to cover while it rises, the table, but then I alway have to sweep and mop the floor. It doesn't matter how careful I am.
