Please do not bother responding to this. He's just trolling to piss people off. Thanks for all the good comments so far.
GF never eaten fish. Suggestions on the best fish you've eaten
Yes Im looking for restaurant recommendations. Son of a Gun is a good idea. I liked Animal so Im curious to try it. Providence I tried a few years ago and wasn't breath taken by the food, but I'll give it another go.

GF never eaten fish. Suggestions on the best fish you've eaten
Thanks I've eaten at roys before and was happy with what I ordered. By the time she's eating this I'll no longer be vegan and very happy about that.
GF never eaten fish. Suggestions on the best fish you've eaten
I have a bet with my girlfriend. If I can eat vegan for a month (including thanksgiving) she will eat fish a few times a week for a month. Im on week two and damn it if I could use a steak or some mouthwatering portk....but I digress. Back to the fish. She hasn't had fish in 20 years. My hope is to give her fish dishes so tasty that she will bring fish back into her diet. There is a restriction: No dairy. Given the restriction I'd like to get a range of cuisines so not all asian.
I thought I would start her off with a miso glazed black cod since it's light and subtle, not too fishy tasting. There will probably be some sushi there (at sushi Gen) at the end.
I was also thinking a really good crab cake might be good if anyone knows where I can get one. Maybe some cioppino.
Ok thanks for the input!
Any cool cooking classes in LA
The butcher class looks fun. Thanks. Still looking for some authentic ethnic (I guess Italian is ethnic but Im already italian) classes like japanese, indian or thai
Any cool cooking classes in LA
Anyone recommend any amazing cooking classes or small group private instructors in LA? I'd love to learn some authentic cooking with a true native. Since LA has Thai town, Little tokyo, and Little India maybe one of these areas might have something.
I'd like to avoid Sur La Table or any big chain, and yes I know about Hipcooks (my friend runs it). I recommend that for anyone else reading the board
Thanks in advance.
World cup locations
Well world cup is almost upon us, which means what to a bunch of foodies? BREAKFAST/BRUNCH. I am not a breakfast connoisseur so I don't really know what typical foreign breakfasts are. But I am a soccer fan (futball), and since the games are at 4:30, 7:00 and 11 am now is the perfect time to indulge my pallette. So I spend a week gathering locatons that are open during the world cup and am willing to share with everyone in hopes that a lot more foreigners will be there to rally behind their squad (and buy me a pint too!)
So since I've provided the locations Im hoping people can let me know what a typical country's breakfast consists of. Also if you can fill in the blanks on any other locations that will host specific countries I am missing let me know.

Can anyone recommend a sukiyaki restaurant that is actually good. Im not looking for shabu shabu but actual sukiyaki with quality beef and doesn't look like a big bowl of soup in the end.
