Wok & Roll County Line Rd. Jackson?

Update: We just got take-out tonight and we were very disapointed. We got the General Tso's, Fried Rice, Steamed dumplings and this time Scallion Pancakes. The General Tso's and Fried rice were so good last week, but tonight... yuck! The General Tso's Chicken was a little tough, the breading was mushy and falling off and there was no spice. It was very bland actually. The fried rice was also VERY bland and this time there was little pork and a lot of peas and carrots (there were no peas and carrots in it last time. I don't like it in my fried rice, but that is a matter of personal preference). The dumplings were good. Now the scallion pancakes were soggy and dripping with grease. I am so disapointed. I thought we had finally gotten a gem here. I don't know if we will be trying again. They were EXTREMELY busy so maybe since it's new they couldn't keep up. I'm not sure. :/

Wok & Roll County Line Rd. Jackson?

My husband drove by a few days ago and though there weren't any signs up in the windows, he saw a lot of cars so he tried the door. It was open... yey! We decided to try it out that night. The decor was nice and smelled very good. We decided to try our usual few things that we always try in any Chinese restaurant when we go the first time. We ordered the Barbequed Spare Ribs, Pork Fried Rice, Steamed Dumplings and the General Tso's Chicken. The ribs were GREAT... perfectly cooked, carmelized sauce, not too much not too litte and very little fat. The fried rice was the best I have had in a VERY long time. It had a great smoky taste and it wasn't greasy. The dumplings were bite size and not heavy on the dough which was nice. The General Tso's was actually very spicy (my husband always complains it isn't spicy enough, but this one was), the breading was nice and crispy and the sauce was delicious. All in all I was pleasantly surprised.

The woman at the table next to us came over to us and asked how we liked everything because she said what they ordered was awful. She said they got the shrimp and lobster sauce it was too thin (she didn't mention how it tasted) and the wonton soup was made with beef broth which she didn't like.

So I guess either it depends on what you order or your particular taste. We really liked it so we will be back.

Oh and my husband asked the owner why there were no signs up saying they were open. She said they weren't quite ready for a grand opening. I am guessing they are still working out the kinks.

Wok & Roll County Line Rd. Jackson?

I drove by today and the sign is up. It says "Asian Fusion" on the building and "Wok & Roll" on the windows. I had a peek inside and saw some furniture and people having a meeting. The guy who appeared in charge smiled and waved hello to me lol. It looks like it should be opening soon!

Thanks, but that isn't it. This one is opening in the Cooks Landing shopping center across from ShopRite. Someone had said it was open, but I just found out it isn't. The number that you provided is the same one I have for the one opening in Cooks Landing (I have a coupon that was in the mail). I guess the same people are opening this one. I am going to go over there and have a peek inside today.

King Crab legs on sale anywhere?

I remember for years there were sales on king crab legs during the summer, however I didn't see any sales last summer or so far this summer. Anyone know of any sales coming up?

Asian Food Market coming soon in Marlboro

I stopped there this morning. I think I am in LOVE lol!!! It was like Disneyland to me!!! First of all the place is BIG and CLEAN! They have everything you could possibly be looking for and more. I was impressed with their hot food section. I didn't try it, but it looked good. The roasted ducks that were hanging looked very yummy! I ended up getting a bunch of hoisin sauce which was on sale (and a preferred brand), oyster sauce, rice wine, rice noodles, dumpling wrappers and green bean ice cream pops. There are SO many times I want to make something with hard to find ingredients and now I will have no problem! :)

Little Saigon Marlboro

I have been there twice now. I have only tried the Banh Mi (BBQ Chicken) and Mango salad both of which were EXCELLENT!! They don't have the BBQ Chicken Banh Mi on the menu, but when I went in the first time the owner recommended it. I'm so glad he did. YUM!!! When I went back the second time I wanted to try something else, but I couldn't get my mind of that Banh Mi. :)

Belzano Ristorante in Brick- disappointed

My husband and I decided to try this place out tonight and we were both disappointed.

Upon walking in the door, the decor was pretty plain and cafe like. They have a wood fired stove for pizza which I was excited about, but I didn't smell it like you normally can. The waiter was young and didn't know how to pronounce things on the specials like "Tilapia". He was young so I will give him a pass. My husband ordered the Lasagna and he said the sauce was too sweet. I ordered the Marinara pizza which was topped with Gaeto olives, capers, anchovies and basil. The pizza crust was quite good, thin and crispy, but the toppings were just too overpowering.

I don't see us going back.

Tenampa Mexican in Toms River very disappointing..

I was also disapointed in in El Tenampa. There were so many amazing reviews on Yelp that we decided to give it a try. Blech. I agree... the sauce that smothered my burrito DID indeed taste like jarred spaghetti sauce. The burrito itself was decent, but it was hard to taste it with all that sauce. The only thing I DID like was the salsa. That was really good. I rather stick to Juanito's in Howell. It's much better and closer to boot.

Banh Mi in Monmouth County.

Little Saigon in Marlboro on Rt. 9 North. It's in the Marlboro Square Shopping center. I tried my first Banh Mi there a couple of weeks ago and it was YUMMY!!! I told the man at the register I never tried it before and he suggested the BBQ Chicken Banh Mi. OMG.... SO GOOD! Obviously I have nothing to compare it to, but I can tell you I will be back many more times!! Here is the website.... http://www.littlesaigonon9.com/index....

What is your favorite new Monmouth County Discovery?

I absolutely LOVE Valentino's. We have gone there for dinner 3 times in the last few months and it was great every time. We know a few of the staff from when they were in Casanova and they always greet us warmly. The Pork Chop Scillian and the Chicken Savoy are AMAZING!

If you didn't like it in the past I do think that maybe you should give it another try. During the week it was pretty quiet, but on Friday and Saturday nights almost all the tables are filled.

I really do hope it sticks around for a LONG TIME!

Peking Pavillion

I went there today with one of my girlfriends. I had the Chicken Imperial (awesome as always!) and she had the Chicken and broccoli and loved it. I tasted it. It was very flavorful and the chicken was VERY tender. She wasn't a fan of the egg drop soup, but the meal more than made up for it.

Be sure to ask your waiter for the "special fortune cookies" after your meal. :)

Fresh Taco in Bayonne NJ?

I was in Bayonne yesterday and we passed a restaurant named "Fresh Taco" which seemed to be Mexian Asian Fusion. We ate elsewhere, but I am so curious now! When I go back I would like to try it.

Has anyone tried it? Is it good?
