My favorite is really le marché Beauveau which is the covered market on rue d'Aligre. A must!
coconut extract
I would be so happy if they could open in Quebec, at each of my trip to Montreal it is a must.

Michelin *** in the province?
In Quebec, there is also a restaurant called L'Initiale it is a Relais et Chateaux, didn't think of it but yes if I consider my foodie experiences in Paris and Monaco would give them a Michelin star either for the food and their service.
Michelin *** in the province?
In Quebec would suggest the Initiale or le St-Amour more than Laurie and Raphael which is a little bit outdated.

1st trip to Paris, Please Help
What is for you: reasonably priced ? For cheese, baguette and croissants ask the concierge at your hotel. Your hotel is in a nice touristic area but not so much a market area. Can think of going chez Fauchon or Hediard on Place de la Madeleine...
moules et frites in Quebec city?
Moss is not as good as it was, sorry for us! Try le Poisson d'Avril on the same street better!

First and the easiest no Inuit food in Québec! But I can also assure that seal is really really not good, tasted it once a long time ago, it was like black, greasy and just I can even add disgusting!
Some restaurants are closed so just give me your dates, I will check and be back to you with suggestions, knowing now what you want.

In many supermarkets you will find the St-Dalfour brand. They are 5$ for a 250ml jar but the worth each cents....
I am not diabetic but there are so good that I always use them.
"Galette à l'avoine" [split from Quebec board]
I put in mine 1/2cup of raisin and or 1/2 cup of nuts... and yes this is the original recipe. The same in Quebec city in my grandmother cookbook.
Foodie Fun in the 2nd Arr.

I will double check on VRBO, I also use this site but in Quebec it is particular many condos on that site are not legal, they don't pay taxes to the Govnt. If something happen since it is illegal no insurance will cover you.

Didn't think the link would be so long but you need it to understand the geography of Quebec!
Before starting just wanted to know if the condo you rented is legal or not. Will give you another link to to follow: http://www.citq.info/en/documentation.asp#rhq go to this page and to accomodation in 2010 choose Quebec and if you find your appartment that is good!
As you can see on the map you are on the corner of Hebert and des Ramparts so you have to choose between going up or down....down to farmer's market where you will find great cheese, spice, wine, bread and much more since it is Christmas time. Open 7 days a week.
For good vegetables and fruits you will have to go up, walk on rue St-Jean pass Carré d'Youville and go to l'Intermarché maybe 15 minutes walking on the other side of the street you will find SAQ to by wine or go to the one in the Chateau Frontenac. Pass l'Intermarché 3 really nice place JA Moisan, l'Epicerie Européenne and Bégin for the butcher.
From the condo at the corner of de la Fabrique and Couillard le Palet d'Or for the bread and croissants or a little further Paillard.
Will be back to you for restaurants!

Le bon Laboureur and le Chateau is a great place in Chenonceaux and the castle is so incredible.

Ok the bar Le St-Laurent at the Chateau Frontenac is great, the XO lounge on Quai St-André street is also very cosy and sadly there is jazz at the Clarendon Hotel only from Thursday to Saturday... but the bar is also very nice.
All these are on your way to Hilton
Don't miss the Farmer's market in lower town as you are a foodie(good choice of restaurant) you will love it!
