Tourtiere in Boston?

Not in Boston proper, Cote's Market in Lowell is where we've always gotten our fix for tourtière.

Summer family English must tries in London?

Loved loved Dishoom. I would have no problem going there with kids. There might be a line to get in....it moves fairly quickly though.

Pork shoulder w/ crackle

This is my "go to" recipe. Never fails, always a crowd pleaser. I just follow recipe exactly and make a few of the sauces. We love it, especially the cracklings.

TD Garden/North End Recommendations

Going to the Celtics game on Friday night....looking for recommendations for early dinner close by. Was thinking of the North End? The only place we've been there is Giacomo's, which we liked, but my parents will be with us and they're not interested in standing in que for a table.
Looking to spend $20-30ish per person excluding alcohol.

Dinner Back Bay

Thanks...did you mean Island Creek Oyster Bar? I had suggested that....but DH was thinking of staying in Back Bay. Colleague is staying there and we will be driving in from the burbs. I think I'll suggest traveling out of back bay. Thanks for the info.

Dinner Back Bay

Looking to take husband's colleague out to dinner in back bay. Colleague is a "foodie". Some searches kicked up Atlantic Fish, Stephanie's, and Backbay Social Club. About $20-30 per entree range. Anything else out there? Ethnic not out of the question. Would like to stay in back bay area.

Opinion Request: Breville Mini Smart Oven

I have the compact...I don't remember the mini being an option when I purchased it. The mini would have been fine for what we use it for.

Opinion Request: Breville Mini Smart Oven

We love ours, but we probably don't use it to its full potential. We only use it for toast and bagels, etc.

Our Costco does not sell them anymore. They are sold through our local Whole Foods, although in a smaller package and larger price.

Bacon and Cheddar Jalapeño Poppers

Loved these! Big hit at our cookouts. Essentially followed recipe except halved the peppers lengthwise and filled each half...for some reason our jalapeños were huge. Instead of broiling them we grilled them. Delicious!!

Bok Choy and Pineapple Salad with Peanut Dressing

I made it just as the recipe is written....underwhelming. Everyone took a bit and said it was OK, but no need to make it again. I wanted to love it.

Unique Regional Foods in Boston

I grew up in Lowell, just north of Boston and it was in a regular rotation in our home growing up in the 70s It was apparently popular with railroad workers and in school cafeterias.
I haven't seen in in any other areas I've lived in....California and NJ.
It is still in rotation with my home these days.

Thinking about getting tickets for the Boston Wine Expo next month. Is it over-crowded and almost impossible to get up to the booths?

Takei Sushi, Wayne

Is anyone out there a fan of Takei Sushi in Wayne? We are just starting to venture out and try sushi and someone recommended it. We went and enjoyed it. We've been twice and it was empty both times which kind of makes me nervous...

Non Thanksgiving-Thanksgiving Dinner

Any cuisine, although the Tweens are somewhat picky - but that won't dictate where we go. Asian is a choice - we've taken them to Joe' Shanghai before so maybe somewhere else. $30-40 or so per person. Don't care about the drinks.

Costco Food Finds - 1st QTR 2011 - Old

LOVE Sukhi's Chicken Tikka Masala from Costco. Also from time to time they have Sukhi's Samosas - which are very good too. BTW - I just found individual Sukhi's entrees at Whole Foods here in NJ.

Where to eat in CT along 15 or 84?

Thanks susan1353 - we hit Penny's on the way home - good food - great service. With a cranky kid & husband it was nice that everyone could get what they wanted. Breakfast for hubby, greek salad for me and an icecream sundae to pacify my daughter!
