Amato's in Northford?
Wow...thanks to the both of you! I had heard good things about Bobby's--my brother makes the trip up their from his house in Stony Creek, so it wouldn't be as "far" for us. I'm glad that you both replied--you saved us time, money and aggravation!
Amato's in Northford?
We're moving to Northford soon, and while driving on Rt. 22, we saw Amato's. We know that it's related to the New Haven one, but has anyone eaten here? What's the food/ambiance like? Can we run in and grab a slice or 2 while we're in the midst of unpacking?
Thanks in advance!
CT Weddings
I had my wedding reception at the Owenego Inn in Branford 2 years ago. We had a late September wedding--they can handle weddings from April-Nov, I think, so if you go the summer route, you're fine. Not a place for Christmas weddings though! It's right on the LI Sound, with a private beach, jetty, etc. Absolutely beautiful. The staff is super--polite, welcoming, organized. They think of things you hadn't! And the food! My husband wants to have another event there just so we can eat, lol. They give you SO much--the appetizers are amazing. And, if you do the buffet option, you can take the extra food to go.
Calling all cake mavens: tasty wedding cake in CT?
The owner of 4&20 is a family friend--they do NOT do wedding cakes anymore. Just too much work.
Just an FYI for y'all!
Brunch ideas needed--Milford/Orange
Thanks! I did see that link the other day, was hoping someone would have other suggestions. Might just be Bear and Grill!
Brunch ideas needed--Milford/Orange
Hello! Husband and I will be going out to brunch at the end of the month with another couple (friends of his parents, almost like aunt/uncle). Looking to find something in the Milford/Orange area since we are in Branford and they are in Shelton...otherwise we'd probably just do La Luna :-)
I read here that Bear and Grill is good...but we're open to other options as well. Looking for your standard American or Italian American brunch fare (she's a veggie), not TOO stuffy but something a little more than diner food. Also, if it's not overrun with kids, that would be awesome.
Thanks in advance!
British Sausage
There is an Irish shop in Old Saybrook, on the Post Road near Job Lot but in a tiny strip mall next to Fromage (cheese shop). That Irish shop sells British sausages. Good luck!
There's a wedding in my future!
Have to agree with Stormshadow...well, he IS my husband!
Owenego is best for a spring or fall wedding. They are closed in the winter and during the summer they are a full service beach/tennis club. They will host weddings then, but if your ceremony/reception are during the day, you might have to deal with gawking club members.
We had about 85/90 people and it was perfect. Although they can handle up to 200 people. They do buffets, seated dinners, and cocktail/hors d'oeurves receptions.
Like my husband said, the food was outstanding. SO GOOD.
